Summary: Potentially good food but vile and disingenuous (borderline biased) service/management.
I do not leave reviews, but this place disappointed me in a way that rocked me to my core and I am compelled to tell my story, in hopes others can avoid this situation at this establishment or the establishment can review how they treat customers.
I made an order on 3 May 2024 at 8:10pm on uber eats for pick up. My order was saltado and a slice of cheesecake. Uber says it will take 20 minutes before the food is ready, but I figure it'll probably be 30 minutes. So, I arrive at 8:40pm and inquire about my order. The gentleman up front says, it's not quite ready but will be out soon in another 10 minutes. While I'm talking to him, one of the wait staff bumps into me and reaches across me to grab something at the desk, like I'm invisible. No apology, no excuse me. I write it off to typical South Florida low brow behavior.
I go back outside and wait as the food wasn’t ready. I wait for another 20 minutes, around 9pm, I walk back in. There's another customer at the front, who "looks like me" and he's being told his food is being boxed up. When I inquire about my food, the gentleman assures me that while my food isn't ready it was coming right up. He goes back in the back and a salt and pepper hair man behind the counter snidely tells me “It can take this long because it's Friday night". In my head, I'm thinking in what world does Saltado take an hour to make. But I pride myself as patient guy; however, my daughter isn't and she is fairly upset. We go back outside to wait. I wait another 15 minutes, so about 9:15. Food is still not ready. The other guy "who looks like me" also goes in and comes out empty handed - he is also visibly upset because he was told his food was being boxed up and it's not ready. By the way, during this entire time, people who were seated after me were already eating their food. Additionally, people were leaving with their pick up orders. When I talked to them, they had ordered AFTER me, which I found very strange as well. Again, I ordered Saltado and cheesecake. At around 9:30, I called it quits. I got up to leave with my daughter. The original gentleman comes running out with a receipt in hand. This man then has the audacity to ask me, “if I wanted the Saltado with Corvina”. I looked at him in what I hope was the craziest face I could muster and told him to cancel my order and process my refund. THEY HAD NOT EVEN BEGAN TO COOK MY FOOD, OVER AN HOUR AFTER I ORDERED!!! He literally had the audacity to ask me to verify my order that I pre-paid for!!!
So hey, this might be a great place to eat, but if you "look a certain way" and you know what I mean. I would be very cautious about bringing your business here - there's no reason to be treated like a 2nd class citizen over...
Read moreI am an African American women who has a large palate for different foods from varies cultures. I throughly enjoy Peruvian food. I live blocks away from Ceviche Arigato, and my sister and I decided to stop by. When we walked in we were not welcomed at ALL however I shrugged it off and the server asked where we would like to sit and we sat in a booth. We ordered shrimp causa and the seafood mariscos (after dinner I ordered an expresso) to which both were excellent!!!!! So now comes time to pay the bill, and I pull out my credit card. And the server came over and ran my card at the table and when I went to sign he had already placed the tip to 18% to which I moved and signed for “no tip” as my tips I always pay in cash bc I have been told most servers prefer cash. So I asked my server for change for a $20 so I could tip him he brings back 2 $10 bills which I find odd bc most serves ask you preference or they bring $10’s, $5’s and $1.I figured he didn’t have any change, but then my sister asked for change for the $10 to which he brings back $5’s and $1’s. Now I feel like he was trying me! I am an excellent tipper and usually tip 20% but what disturbed me today is that I feel like he assumed bc my sister and I are African American we would not tip him. Which by the way I left him $10 on a $38 bill...do the math. I will patronize the restaurant again but your server has ONE more time to discriminate against me and I’m done. I live in weston and have never been treated like this at any restaurant here! And I have been living here since 2010, I’m not new to the neighborhood, your...

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we felt the Peruvian vibe. The atmosphere was excellent, with nice, clean music setting the perfect tone. Our server was amazing, and the service was top-notch.
As for the food—simply outstanding. We had fish ceviche, mixed ceviche, and jalea, and every dish transported us straight to Peru. This wasn’t our first time here; in fact, it was probably our fifth visit. The reason I waited so long to write a review is that I wanted to ensure that every experience was consistently excellent. Many restaurants struggle with consistency, but Arigato has maintained exceptional quality over the past four months, and I have no doubt they will continue to do so.
We also tried the anticuchos, choritos a la chalaca, conchitas a la parmesana, and picarones—everything was amazing. Nowadays, it’s rare to find a restaurant that stays consistent not only with its food but also with its staff. As a chef, I am very picky about my ceviche, especially coming from El Callao, and I can confidently say that Arigato does it right.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic Peruvian...
