“Do not complain about growing old. It is a privilege denied to many.” - Mark Twain “Eric” - For time 16 rounds - teams of 2 200m run 11 burpee box overs 24”/20” 21 wall balls 20lb/14lb 19 pull-ups *16 years of service with the Fort Smith Fire Department *11/21/19 End of Watch Eric was an incredibly tough and resilient dude. The man fought one of the hardest battles imaginable and you’d have never known it watching him or talking to him. Eric didn’t just meet the standard, he set it. When I wrote this workout, I wanted to include the movements in CrossFit that he enjoyed the most. Those movements, and these important numbers, combined to make a hell of a workout. It is a long, and arduous, workout to say the least. The length and difficulty of the workout can be a turn off to some.. but it is exactly as it should be and if you knew Eric, you know it is a fitting workout for a man of his caliber. It is long and difficult but it pales in comparison to the fight he endured. It is a privilege to grind through this workout every year. The thing about Eric’s fight, at least from the limited perspective I had, was that the further he got into it, the more he dug in his heels and the harder he fought, but the less you knew he was even fighting it. I remember coaching one day, the workout was particularly difficult that day, and he came in. He wanted no special treatment and asked for no considerations. He jumped in with class and did the workout as if nothing at all were wrong. I remember watching him fighting for every breath and every movement. Every rep required more effort. Every breath deeper. Every effort more difficult than it should have been. But he just quietly chipped away until he finished. He fought a hell of a fight, and I was proud to know him. The later stages of that fight, when the physical war had been waged and he had given all of himself for so long fighting it, I can’t imagine the difficulties he endured within his mind. The body he had called upon so many times in life, now betraying him. His wife and son. His family. Preparing himself, and them, for what was to come. Yet, as was just his nature, he was ever the stoic. The strength and virtue he displayed was incredible. I did the 16th round of the workout with weight for every movement. Carried kettlebells on the run, used dumbbells on the box overs, a heavier ball for the wall balls and did weighted pull-ups. It felt like the right thing to do to honor and commemorate his increased effort when he was at the end and in the hardest stage of his fight. He didn’t coast when it got harder, he upped the effort and fought more and more courageously every day. My hope by sharing this is, is the same as it is every year, that his name and legacy live on in the hearts and minds of all of us that he inspired and those whom to which we tell his story. “Every day is a good day” - Eric Morrison #Eric #Hero #herowod #firefighter #lod #lineofduty #fsfd #fortsmithfiredepartment #cancer #cancersucks #CrossFit #gym #workout #awareness #ericmorrison #typ #foryoupage #foryourpage

I’ve been going to CrossFit 413 for about a year now. At 46, I had never done any coach-led, group workouts like this. The community and coaches immediately helped me feel welcome from the moment I walked in the door. It hasn’t been easy but with solid coaching options to scale the exercises to my level ability, I have made a lot of progress building strength and endurance.

The guided CrossFit workouts are varied and inventive. Challenging but never boring.

The gym has a good assortment of equipment that is kept in good working order. There is large quantity of barbells, dumbbells, kettle bells, medicine balls, racks, boxes, GHDs, pull-up bars, and benches. They also have ample assault bikes, rowing machines, and ski machines. As well as, climbing ropes.

The gym is kept clean. It has nice textured anti-slip flooring. There are many large fans to keep it comfortable while being sweaty. The restrooms and shower facilities are well maintained and clean. There is also a quality gym-wide sound system to keep you moving.

Pros: Quality facility Good coaches Great community Challenging and varied...

We started with Crossfit 413 in July 2016. Coming from a very small gym we were reluctant to give 413 a shot as we knew there were a lot of very good athletes there and we were intimidated. After talking to a Daniel and Emily we decided to try it for a week and see how we liked it. From our very first visit We loved it! The coaches are extremely personable and supportive! Daniel is extremely knowledgeable and is a very good coach. In the one year we have been going we are fitter and feel better than we ever have. Also those "very good" athletes that we thought we're going to be intimidating ended up being some of the first to give us a fist bump at the end of the workout. We have found a great community at 413 and are very thankful we decided to walk...

Absolutely love this gym! It’s great for new beginners all the way to advanced athletes of all ages. I started with a good friend of mine who had been going for quite some time. It took her over a year to convince me that crossfit was the sport for me. I had no idea what I was doing or what crossfit was about. But, they take you step by step through every movement. If you can’t do a movement, they teach you a scaled version that is custom to your range of motion and ability. All the members are friendly and willing to help you. They provide several different class times and all of the coaches are knowledgeable, professional, and are there to motivate and help you achieve all of your goals. I highly recommend trying it out, after all, the first...
