Northwest Florida Fair Association — Local services in Fort Walton Beach

This property is now own by the County of Okaloosa. It is in need of quite a bit of repair. I attended a gun show here this past weekend. The buildings worked for the two day show. I personally think that the history that is held there definitely needs to be preserved, with that being said the gronds and buildings need work to make events want to come there. The country now has TDC money that could be used to develop it for events that need more outdoor space than the convention center has. The area has plenty of housing and shopping with in a very short distance. So the people are there and a lot of people coming for a visit to the Emerald Coast go past the Fairgrounds. Went to see an event of The Society of Creative Anachronisms (SCA). Many vendors and heavy armored fighting along with rapier fighting. My son won one of the rapier tournaments! I don't have a lot of experience with the fair grounds other than attending fairs there. The large multipurpose building has a number of rooms that can be reserved for many purposes.
