Hidden gem in Far Southwest Fort Worth! We go on weekend mornings to get all the food fresh. Carnitas (perfectly seasoned, although they don't provide cilantro, salsa, and onion to go along with them like other places), fresh orange juice (very affordable, about $6.99 for a large), cake by the slice, michoacana style treat section at the entrance, garbanzos, fair prices at the carniceria (similar prices to El Rancho Supermercado), a restaurant inside, handmade and original tamales made daily (they sell out of them very quick, you have to go very early. Also, these are not those store bought ones that people try to sell as authentic. These are actually made here.) The menudo is a VERY generous TUB for about $12.99? Very tasty! Hmm, what else... warm tortillas to go, small bakery inside, Mexican candy, and small selection of produce at reasonable prices. Although I may say, there seems to be a lot of drama between the women working there, but all in all, is a great...
Read moreWent with my husband and son to eat at the restaurant inside. They brought out my husband's and son's food and asked was that all that we ordered and I told the lady no that we were missing my food. She asked what it was and said she would bring it right out. When she didn't my husband had to go up to the checkout and remind them again. They then sent a lady out to look at our table I'm assuming to see if we were telling the truth. After a few minutes they brought out my quesabirria tacos with the cheese just thrown on there and not even melted I guess so that they could hurry up and still forgot my consume. At this point I was tired of having to tell them anything and just decided that instead of saying anything I would...
My family buys meat at this butcher shop. We've never had a problem with the meat! It's delicious and flavorful! But I wouldn't recommend the snack stand. When I went to order something, there were two women who didn't change their gloves. They were touching their hair, their clothes, and other dirty materials. Even the one preparing our order grabbed a piece of paper to wipe off the cream inside a jar. THE CREAM. And she used her hand to touch the trash can and throw the paper away! Then she grabbed the glass of frozen mangonada to put it in the DIRTY blender. I told her I didn't want the mangonada, and the three women working there got angry. They asked me why, and I told them about the gloves. The woman helping us yelled at me, "Can't I fix my hairnet? I have to keep this on!" But I explained to them that not changing gloves wasn't hygienic. For saying anything, they treated me poorly and had a bad attitude toward me. I won't buy anything from there again. The ladies were very dirty, and they had a very bad way of listening to customers! At least they finally changed...
