Oh the woes of finding a new hairstylist.

I've been searching for several years to find a stylist that is competent and friendly without charging an arm and a leg for a haircut and style. I found a great deal on Groupon for this location and decided to try it based on the good reviews.

I was able to make an appointment within 24 hours of calling and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. I walked in for my appointment and was surprised that the place was nearly empty before new years. I figured many people would be getting their hair done, but it was rather quiet, so I wondered if the place wasn't as good as everyone said. I waited a couple of minutes for Chastity and then she took me back. She was easy to talk to- no forced conversation and pretending to care. She washed my hair twice, gave me a little scalp massage with conditioner and then did the deep conditioning treatment. After that, we moved to the chair. I really didn't have a very clear idea of what I wanted, but Chastity helped clarify. She has many years of experience as a hair dresser and she did a great job adding layers and cutting away dead ends. While I wasn't a fan of how my hair was diffused (I have curly hair and it looked frizzy), after I showered, I was very pleased with the haircut.

There was a deal that if I booked my next two hair appointments the same day, I would get a free deep conditioning treatment next time ($20 value) and it would be only $10 the time after that. Considering the amount of conditioning curly hair needs, I considered it a great deal and went ahead and booked with Chastity again. Haircuts with her are $43, which is reasonably priced.

Salon Dexterity even goes the extra mile and after a couple weeks after my appointment, Chastity sent me a card in the mail to make sure I was still loving my haircut and to give feedback. I already had this review drafted, but I finally got around to finishing it because of her card. :)

This past week was the first time in 3 years that I’ve even stepped foot in a hair salon. The last time I had my hair touched was so disappointing. I have long hair that I’m always afraid to get cut because more than I’m ok with being taken off is always cut off. My dry, split ends finally got so bad I knew I had to do something. I made the decision to give Salon Dexterity a try, seeing as there were so many great reviews. BEST. DECISION. EVER!! Denise was my stylist and not only did she do an amazing job, she actually listened to my concerns and what I was wanting. She was easy to talk to and made the whole experience enjoyable. Normally, I’m so stressed watching how much is being cut off that I can’t focus on conversation and the time drags by. With Denise, I felt so at ease and had immediate trust. Before I knew it, she was asking how I wanted my hair styled and then it was time to check out. I have never been happier with a haircut and style. I did purchase some products while there, but not because I felt pressured to. In fact, I asked her about them and she gave me pricing and directions on proper use without making me feel like I couldn’t back out of the sale. Discussed pricing which is well explained without pushy upselling by stylists, along with an up to date take on beauty make for a lovely experice at each appointment.
