I had a similar bad experience but trusted past experiences buying or selling games in the past. I understand the policy of not giving prices over the phone under the provision of testing systems. What I question is the "30 day guarantee" on "retro" systems. Its not a 30 day return policy, its supposedly a policy where only if the item is found to be defective that he will take it back. Now when I bought the system, he tested one of the two games I purchased and said the other wasnt listed on the company facebook yet but was in a stack of tested and non tested games yet. My issue is when it didn't work at my home and it was retested at the store he wouldn't take it back. You see, sometimes a car has an engine issue but the issue mysteriously doesn't present at the mechanic requiring further proof from the client. And then he started rambling about how I degradated the box condition when I was waiting over 45 minutes for the business to open in the first place. Overall, I felt as though I was being told I was stupid and undermined and was forced to walk out with what I purchased. Whatever happened to the customer being right? If it doesn't work for me, I dont want it. Still doesn't work at my house so screw this place. Maybe he rigs stuff up to work for him but in the split second of taking it from me to test he fiddles with some micro piece and then it works for him. I'm pissed after spending almost $230 for a...
Read more"Wouldn't discuss prices over the phone" which is no way to get business. But I tried going twice anyway to check it out. The 1st time I pulled up to the house/store around noon, but they didn't open until 3 p.m.. So I went back today and arrived at 3:25 p.m. but the store was closed anyway. I tried calling, but no answer. I sat there for 10 minutes, but they did not open or answer when I knocked. If they really offered "way more than gamestop does", I would definitely discuss true prices over the phone, because if it really is true that they offer way more than gamestop then that's how you would pull me away from them. I will never know because I am done trying. I'll stick with a store that is open all day and night and I can look up pricing and trade-in values for online...
Read moreJoseph Gronchick seriously you don't know anything about games. I been gaming for over 15 years and I haven't found a better retro store than 1up. Not only they host tournaments which donate money to charities but they also have a ton of retro stuff they just stock in super smash bros. hopefully they have it next time i visit there. I got my retron,snes,n64 and hopefully soon when i get my gamecube ill be stopping bye. They got rare games like earthbound and hopefully they will receive a virtual boy soon because thats all im missing to play every nintendo game ever once i get a nes ill still keep the retron though. The people their are nice and the prices are the lowest in the county better than going to those retro places in...
