2/29 update. Bargain hunters dig. Because they're not great at pricing all items at "normal" used prices, you can bottom dig bargains. I got a perfectly working Canon Elph 130IS for just $2!! because they didn't know the failed sd card in the slot was causing the errors. Replace the sd card, and it works fine! Nice!! ... Selling. FV branch is quieter and less busy than the CM branch for selling. If you bring electronics and such, they'll give you a decent price on these. 8" miix2 8 tablet, voice recorder, Pentax mx-1 camera, watches - netted a nice $260~ given the age. Other items, meh, $1-5, but they'll take some things that other shops won't, while refusing furniture, etc - stuff that's hard to move fast. Clothing is bought based on the season. ... A nice used goods store with a wide range of products, clothes, and electronics. Some of the gear goes back a decade (like cameras) or more (like cassette decks), while others are quite new (like PlayStation 4). Because they buy used, their stock will constantly change like any thrift or pawn shop, so it's good to go in weekly to find new bargains (like $0.99 new inkjet cartridges). This shop has more cameras and camcorders and bicycles than the Santa Ana branch. Very clean overall, good organization, friendly and...
Read moreI didn't want to go through all the trouble of selling my old stuff by myself before moving, so I went to sell it to Econ Town thinking even a cheap price works, but it was the worst second hand store I have ever been to.
It was my fault for not confirming, but about half of the items were forgotten on the purchase confirmation. I called as soon as I noticed and told them that I live in LA now and it would take me a while to pick them up, and they said those items weren't able to be bought in and they're sorry for foegtting to return them, and said that they would keep all the items until the next time I could come back. However, by the time I went back there, the manager told me that I won't be able to get the items back anymore because they have put those items on sale after not being able to reach to me by phone serval times. (While the truth is, there was not a single incoming call, let alone voicemail besides the call I made after realizing the items were missing)I didn't know where all the items went, and the funny thing is they didn't know either.
I was told to collect all the items I was able to find (The two items I was able to find were sold for $80 and $20 while I was told that those items could not be bought in) and for the ones I wasn't able to find, they offered to give me $50 cash, which I agreed to because I had no other choice. I wanted them to at least keep a record of what they sold and where they put it.
The inspection of the sound and electronic equipment was terrible, and it took 45 minutes to an hour to inspect the equipment. The manager offer me a $5 at the beginning saying it is not functional, but I was not able to agree to that knowing the equipment is working just fine. Yet even after explaining on how to use it, the manager returned it to me without checking it again. I later sold the equipment to a Guitar Center for $40.
I was told that the bass itself would also be treated as junk. I let it go for $5 because the one of the pegs were broken and there were stickers, etc. on it, so I thought it was inevitable.
When I was at the store today again, the bass I sold for $5 was being marked and sold at $100. I was told that they did not cheat me or anything, but it does not make sense that something bought in for $5 is being sold for $100 with just a little bit of clean up.
I asked for an explanation, but I was told that it was labor costs for repairs, etc. I could not find any repair marks at all, and the pegs were on display with only the things I had put on myself to turn the pegs removed. ply.
I wish they could have sold it for like $50 or something since they bought it from me so...
Read moreCool place. They buy a lot of different kinds of stuff. They use to not pay as well for your items but it seems to be a little more now. I believe they give you 33% of your items value if I remember correctly. They got all sorts of video game collectables, Star Trek, anime, ty beanie babies, electronics, bikes, apparel from vintage shoes, hats, jerseys, printed tees, men's and women's... They even got a little fishing section, hunting knives, randomly have bows, scopes, they used to have a bigger music section but they really had their prices way too high on the guitars... Sure some were nice and maybe collectable but the value doesn't change... Guitar center and even local music shops and pawn shops keep the prices similar.... That's just a tip to learn from and maybe if you use that you'll see more business from the guitars... Making money more frequently or putting the price tag a little too high and maybe make that extra dollar but less frequently... If my advice about guitars helps business bloom y'all should hook it up with an electric drum set lol... Oh yeah they also got some bikes, skateboards, golf and other random...
