Sushi Plus — Restaurant in Fountain Valley

This is my "home away from home," my "Cheers" where everybody knows my name. It's not big, it's not fancy, it's just good. Daniel (the owner) is awesome and the servers and kitchen crew are great. Their prices are reasonable and you get your money's worth with each roll. Yes, it gets busy on Friday and Saturday evenings, but I've never had to wait more than 10-15 mins on those nights. There's ample parking since it's in the same strip mall as a well-known and unique local specialty shop known as Prehistoric Pets, which is closed at night so there's always available parking by happy hour. Speaking of which, Sushi Plus' happy hour sushi menu is great. Lots of different rolls, sashimi, beers, and sake to choose from. If you're looking for lunch, their chicken bowls and bento plates are filling at a good price. I've even gone when I had a bad cold or sinus infection because they're spicy ramen really opens things up in your head. I've taken my parents here, friends visiting from out of town, and many co-workers. When it's too hot at home to want to cook, I'm here instead. And I've spent more than one birthday filing up on my favorite rolls. Oh, there's also been a recent addition right next door, a cookie dough place. OMG found my new favorite sushi spot! Service was great, and it was busy! Only 7 tables in this restaurant, it's a small place.

Decor was nice. Parking was easy. Prices were very fair! Rolls were soooooo freaking delicious! I heard they have a great happy hour too, but we were too early for that. But NBD because it was cheap for really great sushi!

Update: Went back again tonight, and as usual, 5 Stars! The biggest portions and the freshest tasting of any sushi restaurant around. After leaving, I made an oath to my wife that this is now the ONLY sushi place we will eat at anymore after many failed experiences everywhere else.

They also have a disco ball hanging from the ceiling, which leads me to believe that they have after hours dance/karaoke parties. I swore another oath to be part of it one day.

Sushi Plus is a gem! The food is always fresh and delicious, and the customer service is truly something special. It has that small-town warmth that makes you feel like family every time you walk through the door.

As someone with celiac disease, finding a place that takes gluten-free dining seriously can be hard—but Karen, Yukon, and the whole team go above and beyond. They remember my dietary needs, take every precaution, and I have never gotten sick. I always feel safe eating here, and that peace of mind means everything. (Did I mention the food is DELICIOUS?!)
