Today I purchased a Bashas Rotessori Chicken with a best buy date of 12/11/2020. Upon opening it 15 minutes later the chicken had neither leg and was also missing a thigh. It looked like the meat had been ripped right off the bone and the rest of the chicken did not look much better. I drove to Bashas to return the chicken and asked the man at the deli counter to speak to his Manager. He went and told the Mgr. who then had him send a trainee employee over to assist me (3 people involved now). The trainee was left almost speechless at the condition of the chicken and said "let me go speak to my Mgr"...this is exactly why I asked for the Mgr. in the first place and I told her that. I then asked that she please show the chicken to the Mgr. The trainee did replace the chicken with another but my biggest issue with this and the only reason I am even posting the issue is: •Who would not notice a chicken in this condition when packing it? •When a Mgr. is requested and is visibly seen sitting there she should interact with the unhappy customer, not send a trainee that was unable to make a simple decision to replace the chicken herself.

I hiked a few miles to get to this store and realized I did not have my credit card on me and I really wanted a cup of coffee in the starbucks. Robin the store manager saw me and asked how she could help and I shared with her the story and she bought me a cup of coffee...out of her own pocket. It's people like this that remind us all there is still very good people in this world. Bashas you have a blessing in her kindness and leadership.

We had been loyal and happy customers of the Gold Canyon store and pharmacy for years and years. However this has all changed in the last few years, building and culminating in bigger, more concerning problems of the last few weeks. The continuing issues that have built up over time are stock outages, reductions of quality stock, higher quality meat items being unavailable, lack of cleanliness, rudeness of staff (constant complaining about “snowbirds and ‘their’ traffic” in front of we snow birds, all as if their jobs didn’t depend largely on our business), and the utter failure/difficulty of use of the store’s antiquated technology. An even bigger, more concerning problem arose over the last few weeks, this one with the pharmacy: I’d had friends report a problem getting their prescriptions filled at the pharmacy when it required their doc to send an electronic message to the pharmacy ordering the medication. I then had it happened on 4 Rx’s on 3 occasions these past weeks. Pharmacy kept saying “oh, we didn’t get it, must not have sent it (or the alternative excuse: “must be a problem on the doctor’s office end”). Soo, that of course required us to call the doc’s office, again, and sure enough, on all occasions the Rx was electronically sent, addresses checked, etc. (we checked to make sure it had been sent on the patient portal). SOO, Back to the pharmacy: still not “arrived”. On one occasion I was told by the pharmacy “oh we’ll do it ‘manually’”, what the hell ever that means. The last time, this past Wednesday, same routine: not there, call doc, sent AGAIN, still not there, nothing. Finally, seeking help from the pharmacy staff, AND some even limited acknowledgment that the problem just might be another example of Basha’s dysfunctional technology (ever try using Basha’s “self service check out”? DON’T! Can’t be done without calling over staff, who then treat you like its an inconvenience). So upon my limited suggestion that the problem might be with the pharmacy’s technology, the person became very rude and aggressive. Raising his voice, and ultimately essentially tell me to take my business and __! Bottom line: we’re done with Basha’s Gold Canyon. I suspect the problem is system wide. Sad testimonial to the history of this great family. Should never have sold to this worthless new venture cap firm. And the real issue for me, having run a regional business, which adopted early the philosophy that the “customer is not only always right but we will fix whatever problem the customer has”, is Bashas’ is just the opposite. If there’s a problem, its the customer’s fault! Plus, it’s obviously a place of unhappy workers. STAY AWAY, especially for your...

deliciousness of the amazing cheese selection is off the chain. They have locally sourced / family owned /small business/ farmers products. If you're up to it, look for the local jellies and jams. The produce is always fresh and beautiful, but a tad limited. However, its as if it's just waiting to jump in your cart and come home with you. MAJOR DOWNSIDE WHICH HAS STOPPED ME FROM SHOPPING THERE COMPLETELY I always feel a tad (understatement) uncomfortable. Evert time i come here, no matter thw time or the day, the staff is constantly pretending (not very well either)not to follow me. Not even in an overly friendly "the best shrinkage protection is great customer service" kind-of way. More like breathing down your neck only one step behind you at the very least they can recommend which tampon brand or hemorrhoid cream works best since they insist on being that damn close to you. No covid 6 foot distancing here....I don't think I look like some junkie in there thefting , but apparently I'm wrong. I'd like to think they're just bored, I've never seen it very busy... It does explain why the store is often immaculate, but give me a break I'm afraid to grab mY phone out of my purse...might give the wrong idea and get...
