Old Presidio Traders — Local services in Four Corners States

Went to Arizona for the first time to visit family. We had a great time shopping, in Tubac, with all the shops. Decided to stop in and look around at Old Presidio Traders. They had a great selection of turquoise jewelry. I once had a favorite ring that I lost last year. It was made by Lakota Indians in Custer, South Dakota. I was upset that it was gone. While looking over the selection, at Presidio, I spotted a ring that was almost its twin! I had to have it! They sized it and it fit perfectly. The woman who works there was very nice and knowledgeable. I wasn't happy with their selection though. Being in an area that prides themselves on selling local art, there was a lot of stuff that was made in China.. Also, a lot of their jewelry was acquired from a pawn shop on a reservation. Handmade Native American jewelry pawned by Native Americans...and then resold to tourists when the contract on it is up. Just didn't feel...

Fantastic spot for Native American jewelry - tons of inventory to look over! Also a great gift shop for tourists wanting to bring home Tubac/Arizona items, for adults or kids. Huge amount of wind chimes to choose from as well. Could have spent hours in here looking at the jewelry if we had more time...
