I used to love this place and the food. I decided to support our local restaurant. April 9, 2020, I Spend $75.09 in take out. The chicken parmigiana was $24.00 and it what such a dissatisfying experience. Not only. First of all when I went to pick up my order I got just the chicken with a large amount of tomato sauce in the bottom and no spaghetti. We called and have to go back to get the "spaghetti " which turn to be pasta another type of pasta not spaghetti at all. (The restaurant did give us a free dessert for forgetting the spaghetti and to make up for us having to drive back. I appreciate this) I tried to eat the chicken it was so hard, it felt almost like biting into a cartigale type of texture, I could not eat itl. So, I had to throw away $24.00, wasted hour and half to get my order right and ended without dinner. And an overall horrible experience and meal. As I did state earlier they did give us a cannoli as an apology for forgetting to give us the spaghetti for the chicken parmigiana. But this was to make up for us having to drive back (which I still do appreciate), but at the end of the day the chicken was inedible and I eneded up wasting $24. The pizza was good but I would not recommend any other meal from this place.

Visiting Tubac for the arts? Afterward stop at the Italian Peasant for their terrific eats. If I hadn't checked out the online reviews I would probably have passed this restaurant by as it looks more like a sports bar from the outside. Inside it's cozy and cool and if you get there when it first opens - 11am - you'll have your pick of spot as it's seat yourself. We ordered the antipasto which was amazing, it had nicely breaded eggplant strips on the top and generous portions of meats, artichoke, and spicy peppers. We ordered the small which was plenty for 3 people. For mains we had the clam linguini which had fresh clams not the chopped up clams most places serve. Ordered a small eggplant parmigiana which came with a side of rigitoni pasta in marinara sauce. These came with a nice serving of garlic bread. Also ordered a full size Peasant hero which was thick with chunks of mozarella and grilled eggplant settled between two fresh slices of bread. So good I forgot to take a picture. Really happy with our choice, the only minor critique is that the clam linguini could've used more garlic to take it over the top. Highly recommend eating here.

I ordered the large pizza supreme. It’s very fresh, delicious, authentic, and addictive. The pizza is very generous in size, it can feed five people. I have never fallen in love or dreamed about pizza before, but this pizza will make you obsessed. Our server, a young lady was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was very clean. My only complaints are that the drinks are overpriced and there was no music in the restaurant, it just felt a little too quiet. It’s $4 for each drink and it was not that great, not that surprising I guess these days, but I wish they sold pitchers. I came back a second time and ordered the pizza supreme. I was disappointed 😞 My pizza slice was so burned, it tasted like charcoal and tasted like spit. I wish their pizza was consistent in quality and taste. 😔

We visited on Mother's Day evening around 7 pm. There was no hostess and a seat yourself sign. Our family of 5 found a larger table towards the back and proceeded to wait 10 min before anyone even acknowledged our presence. A waiter from another table finally called across the restaurant and told another server we were there. The other server then rolled her eyes and huffed right in front of us. As she approached our very Irish family, she asked what we wanted to drink in Spanish. We asked for water, which took at least 5 minutes despite the machine being 1 step from our table. We then asked for kids menus, which we never received, and ordered a kids spaghetti and kids ravioli along with the Bruno pizza. Our server came back a minute later and said there was no kids ravioli, but she could do a half order. Fine.

The ravioli came out first...at least 5 min before any other food. The pizza followed, and it was huge and delicious with a fantastic cracker crust and high quality ingredients. As she delivered the pizza, our server asked if we needed anything else. I asked for my son's spaghetti, and rather than apologize or even say a word, she ran off in a huff to the kitchen, where we watch her scramble to put in the order. To her credit, she did give us a full portion and didn't charge for it.

Through the meal, we were never checked on once, never had water refilled. And after we finished eating, we sat and waites for at least 15 min for our server to bring the bill. I asked for a box for the pizza and was given an aluminum, round pasta pan. I had to fold the slice of pizza to cram it in. Our server then bussed a table before bringing back our card. She then hawked our table while we discussed and filled out the tip. We decided to do the right thing and leave 10% instead of nothing, although we seriously considered (for the 1st time ever) not tipping. We are usually very generous tippers.

On the way out, my husband stopped and asked for a manager. She listened and offered to comp the meal but we had already paid. She asked if we would come back if she offered us a $50 gift certificate with a promise we wouldn't have the woman who served us again. The manager's willingness to make things right and the delicious food saved the star rating. However our server is the worst we have ever had...never felt less welcome in a...

Sadly, we will not be coming back to this place. We've eaten here for about a year, here and there. I waited a while to post a review, as I have been very upset with the last experience we had on Mothers Day.

My husband made reservations, noting the prime rib dinner. I was very excited, I had yet to celebrate Mothers Day out due to the pandemic.

We arrive, wait a bit to be seated. Then wait 15 minutes, no greeting, no water, nada. I finally got up and asked the owner/manager for water.

A girl brings us water. Then proceeds to tell us they sold out of prime rib at noon (still advertised on their welcome board). So we say ok, and ordered burger, sandwich and a pizza for the little. And we wait, also no refills.

40ish mins later, they bring my daughters slice. Then come back 15ish minutes to see our food was. WHICH WE NEVER GOT. At this point, I'm so mad, hungry and in disbelief I'm ready to cry.

They finally bring the food and then....the manager/owner comes over and tells us she didn't make enough prime rib (which you had to have a reservation). Basically, she screwed up and wants me to feel bad?

After all this, we finally got the bill. I left them a note, letting them know they ruined my first Mothers Day out.

If you can't manage a small restaurant, hire a professional. The food isn't worth the headache to eat there. We'll never eat there again, most my friends have had similar experiences. It's really sad, they really DO NOT CARE about their customers. There are many other places that value your business.

*Update, per the response. Our reservation was at 5:30 PM, which we were told there was NO prime rib, it sold out hours before our reserved time. AT NOON. I worked in the industry for years. I DO understand how it works. So either you sold out in 30 minutes....or who knows. Either way, thanks...

I am not sure if the local guides leaving the 4 and 5 star reviews are going to the same restaurant, because, in the last two years it has only been sliding down hill.

-The tables are consistently dirty to the point where you have to look around for the one with the least dried food on the table cloth. -There are always flies inside the restaurant swarming the windows and tables. This could be due to all the salt, pepper and parm shakers having dried food plastered all over them.

-The last time we went was in late August for lunch. We were one of three tables with customers (about 6 people). Our menus had dried food all over them, as well as having about a third of the menu options whited out. Our table cloth was filthy (but seemed to be the least filthy option available). I asked for penne pasta instead of the linguini and the waitress said that would be no problem...however they brought me linguini anyway. The second of the three tables had to have their burger sent back due to it being undercooked. Our waitress was actually serving food to tables WHILE TALKING ON HER CELL PHONE. Even though she was the only waitress in the entire restaurant, she left her customers to go take a smoke break.

-Overall, I'm really not sure why we even sat down to eat there. The staff does not seem to care at all about the restaurant, which tells me that we shouldn't either. We will not be going back unless something...
