I use to live here in 2015. I was actually okay with everything like the occasional roach that crawled across the floor (Which we always killed) and noisy upstairs neighbor that seemed to always be in a fight except when I left. I was on a year lease but had to move out because I was going to school elsewhere & at the time I was too broke to pay rent and tuition. I spoke with management and all they said we had to do was clean the apartment and pay last months rent. I looked over my lease to be sure that it was correct, it wasn't but I thought "hey, these people know what they are talking about", and I asked them multiple times "Are you sure we don't HAVE to pay anything because we are breaking the lease?", and they said "No, because the lease was not valid due to new management coming in". SO I was like cool then. We cleaned the apartment, had the inspection & passed, paid last month's rent, then we were out. WITHOUT any notification, weeks later a letter comes in the mail stating we owe over $1000, in fees of breaking the lease and the damages to the apartment!!!!!!!!! Apparently, it cost $200 to replace a small patch of the rug, under the door where a nail kept getting caught on it. Then small things here and there. I WAS PISSED! I don't have over $1000 to spend on all this, I would have stayed in the apartment until the lease was up if I had known I was going to be lied to straight to my face. I called them and told them I had asked and asked multiple times is there anything else we had to pay and the answer was always NO. So either I pay or it goes on my credit history. THEY GAVE ME NO CHOICE BUT TO PAY !!!!!! Yes, I could have taken them to court but I don't have money for lawyers or evidence at that. DO NOT TAKE THEIR WORD for anything! Let's just say, DO NOT MOVE HERE. They will take all the money they can get. It must be some kind of scam if they say one thing that turns out...
Read moreYou can't pay rent online because their website is down/the page to pay rent has a broken link... Who knows how long this has been, but I've been trying for two weeks now. I'm extremely technologically-savvy and it still wouldn't work from any computer, phone, or tablet I tried.
The leasing office tried to tell me that it was an error on my part, yet I spoke to someone else in the office almost two weeks ago who said she had plenty of complaints that people could not pay their rent online.
I live out of state and was trying to pay rent on behalf of my father, but they also would not take a payment over the phone. I downloaded the apartment cast app, as the website said to do and as I was advised to do over the phone by the leasing office. The app also gave me an error message and said that my dad's account was not set up for online payments. Two weeks have gone by with me calling every other day or more and I was still unable to pay rent for my dad via the phone, the website, or the app. Then today, the leasing office told me that if I get his rent their via mail by Friday he won't have any late fees. So now I had to overnight something for $30 to avoid a late fee that I shouldn't have had in the first place.
By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I have worked in customer service, as well as in an office environment, and I know that it's truly not that hard. Not to mention the place is not that safe and not at all nice. Bugs, loitering, police there constantly from what my dad told me. Don't waste your time or money.
Attached is the error message that I've received for two weeks while trying to pay rent online. The website is awful. I also emailed these images to the leasing office multiple times and never...
Read more4/20/16 *Decent neighbors, quiet community. I've lived here over a year and haven't had any huge issues. Although, there does seem to be issues with other tenats in the complex regarding cockroaches, other rodents & AC issues. Some say the maintenance & staff lag, but I haven't had any issues with bugs, management, or maintenance. Good apartment to live in & community to be a part of.
7/16/17 *Upon checking my credit statement recently, I found that the apartment charged me over $800 & forwarded that to collections. When I had left the apartment, I left it cleaner than it was when I moved in and in great standing with the management. What's even more confusing is my deposit was returned which shows that there was no physical damage to the apartment.. yet I have an $800 charge that's moved to my credit history permanently. I haven't lived at this apartment for over two years and am furious about the entire situation and how the complex choose to handle it.. NEVER contacting me at ANY point regarding this issue/any issues they had.
The BBB & mortgage lender/Apartment owners of Tierra Hills & Tierra Palms will definitely be contacted in the near future! Extremely disgusting company practices...
