After nearly 10 years of driving past Rider Furniture and thinking they mostly sold Adirondack chairs because of the colorful ones out front, my family finally went there this weekend and realized how wrong we were!
We had gone to nearly every furniture store in the area searching for the perfect chairs for a new dining room table and couldn't find what we wanted. Then, on our way home from one of those big furniture chains this weekend, we decided to stop in and check it out.
No one rushed over and launched into typical sales tactics. Just a very friendly chat with the staff about what we were looking for and the freedom to explore and take our time. They clearly care about building relationships with their customers. They let us know that we could customize the color of every chair and choose all wood or add a cushion (also with so many fabric options).
And THEN they encouraged us to borrow the chair we were considering, along with a couple of fabric samples, so we could see it all next to the new table and make the right choice.
On top of this, it was one of the most kid-friendly stores we've ever been to. Our five year old had a great time chatting with the staff, asking questions, and helping us decide on fabrics.
The location on 27 isn't ideal for processing that it's a full furniture store before it's too late to turn into the parking lot, so I figured the least I could do was write this in case others have glossed over this gem like we did. The wonderful woman who was helping us said this happens often. I really wish we'd started our search here and we definitely will...
Read moreBeautiful place. its a wonderful environment set up in a renovated historic home across the street from the canal in Kingston... It is very classy yet warm and cozy set up as if you were shopping in someone's own personal living spaces. The staff is incredibly professional, friendly and hospitable. One of my biggest pet peeves is pushy staff especially in a business where people commonly work on commission salary. My shopping experience was quite Pleasant once I ordered my furniture I was surprised at the convenient and quick delivery Even the delivery staff was great they moved the furniture in in a quick and careful fashion while respecting my home and we're just as nice as the workers at the store. it is family owned from what I have heard. As well as production and repair ( i believe antique Furniture restore repair offered as well) that's supportive of the local economy. They are more than accommodating and very down-to-earth. The furniture that they carry is modern yet some with more of an antique like appeal. I would recommend this place to anyone is definitely five star quality in...
Read moreFrom start to finish, Rider Furniture was professional and helpful all along the way. We were looking for quality furniture that was made of solid wood throughout and with the highest craftsmanship. We found this in our Amish made bedroom set. Shelly spent time with us, patiently thumbing through pages of numerous catalogs until we found what we thought we might like. However, sometimes one needs a pair of objective eyes. In stepped Marian who came to our house to give us a sense of the size of the pieces that should fit into the room as well as properly coordinating the finish, stain and hardware. The delivery day brought with it an early morning snowfall. Needless to say this created some nervousness and apprehension. Our fears were allayed through the expert efforts of Jason and Billy. Their expertise facilitated the moving of the furniture under difficult circumstances. We highly recommend Rider Furniture for those discriminating individuals who are looking for quality of product and knowledgeable, friendly customer service. Thanks again to all who made this a...
