We attended a confirmation celebration at this restaurant’s party hall, organized by a beloved family. The hall was booked from 8 PM to 11 PM, with the understanding that the mass would end around 8:30 PM. The venue allowed us to begin decorating from 3 PM, and everything went well in terms of setup.
However, the actual event was quite disappointing. Due to the mass running longer than expected, guests—including the host family—arrived after 9 PM. The food had already been served by then, and while I must say the quality was excellent—flavorful biryani, soft naan, and delicious curries—the service was extremely poor.
Around 10:30 PM, while guests were still waiting in line, the staff began winding down the buffet. Appetizers were never refilled. What was especially frustrating was that the host family hadn’t even had the chance to eat—they were busy handling photos and coordinating the event. I approached the staff multiple times to let them know that the hosts hadn’t eaten and asked for takeaway boxes, but they completely ignored the request.
To help, I served two plates of food and left them on a table for the hosts. Within 10 minutes, the staff cleared those plates away as well, without checking or caring who they were meant for. The host family, who paid for the event, left without having a single bite of the food they arranged for their guests. They ended up eating bread and jam at home that night.
Recently we attended an another event in an another hall. At that different venue, the staff thoughtfully packed food for the host family without even being asked, and nothing was missed—not even the appetizers. That contrast in service really highlighted how poorly things were handled in this case.
We understand that the staff may have been eager to finish their shift, but when a hall is booked until 11 PM, service should reflect that. Guests shouldn’t be rushed, and hosts shouldn’t be ignored—especially when they’re the ones paying the bill.
Food: 10/10 — no complaints at all. Service: 2/10 — unaccommodating Overall experience: Sadly, one of the worst we’ve had.
Please think twice before booking your event here. Great food can’t make up for a lack of basic courtesy and empathy.
I’m referring to the dinner event held on May 13. I asked my friend multiple times to raise the concern with the manager, as they had paid a significant amount for the buffet. But she chose not to, saying, “It’s over—you can’t change what happened.” Still, I feel it’s important to speak up, so this doesn’t happen to anyone else in the future. She had been praising the food even before the event, which made it even more disheartening to see how disappointed she...
Read moreWe as a group of 10 people recently had the pleasure of dining at Urban Spice and I can confidently say it was an extraordinary experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable meal.
The menu is a masterpiece, showcasing a variety of dishes that cater to every palate. We started with the instant mouth melting chicken Dahi ki Kabab, Special marinated grilled Salmon & Amritsari fish, Chat Special & Lamb Chops which was a perfect blend of flavors, softness and textures. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and the presentation was nothing short of artful.
For the main course, we opted for Goat Briyani, Dal Bukhara, Bhindi do Pyaza, Bhuna Gosht and Malai Kofta. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness, with perfectly balanced seasoning and expertly cooked ingredients. The portion size was generous, ensuring we left fully satisfied. My dining companions were equally impressed with their selections, including Malai Kofta and Aachari Chicken Tika.
The dessert was the crowning glory of the meal. The freshly in-house prepared Gulab Jamun, Rasamalai and Moong Dal Halwa was a heavenly concoction that provided a sweet ending to a perfect evening. The flavors were rich and indulgent, without being overly sweet.
The service at Urban Spice was impeccable. The renowned chef Gaurav Mathur came personally to our table specifically to enquire about the food and overall feedback. He ensured us the experience we get there from the time we enter till we exit is unparalleled. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. It’s clear that the team takes great pride in providing an exceptional dining experience.
In addition to the food and service, the ambiance of Urban Spice deserves special mention. The tasteful decor and comfortable seating made it an ideal setting for a relaxing and enjoyable meal.
Overall, Urban Spice exceeded all our expectations by all means. It’s a place where culinary artistry meets exceptional service, creating a dining experience that is second to none. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable meal. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their...
Read moreI brought my family and my father's friend's family here for an enjoyable dinner but expect to be insulted by the service and quality of the food. I would like to start off by describing the weakness in service where my mother brought a small portion of her wine, that was medically suggested by a doctor to be taken during dinner, into the dining area and as the food was being served the assistant manager with a small mustache who said not to have the drink and is not allowed any other conditions by the restaurant. My mother who has a minor issue with her heart must take this type of red wine to improve her condition and was not by large proportions, and to further reduce the amount of wine sharing the same man took an empty glass from our table and neglected to return it back. This angered all of us and we could have used the glass for something else such as sharing water, or sharing a specialty drink if someone simply wanted a small sip but regardless the glass was not return and no explanation was given for the act. The horror story does not end here. It continues until we receive the cold food that the waiter brought out and we had to tell the damn waiter to heat it up for us again in any means possible. This did not anger us, what really set us on fire was the fact when we were "TRYING" to enjoy our meals we were constantly being monitored by the waiters and the assistant manager as they stood in the corner staring directly at us as if we are crooks. We are hard working people just like anyone else and have a clean record and why would we want to do that ? This made us uncomfortable. Next, remember that empty glass and the small portion of wine ? well it is back to haunt us again when the receipt came, there was a charge for having one glass of wine ,WHICH WE WERE UNAWARE OF AND DOES NOT STATE IT IN THE RESTAURANT'S POLICY ANYWHERE !!. Plus this it's sister facility who is under the same owner as Moghul restaurant, couple of streets down and they allow this BYOB policy in open arms. Is it possible that this facility does not recognize a medical condition ? We are and were furious, they lost tons of customers, congratulations. Ladies and Gentlemen the decision...
