Good morning All,
If you're looking for fresh fruits and vegetables, stay clear of Food Lion in Frankin, NC.
I can't tell you how many times I puchased blue berries for $5 and get home to find that they are tasteless and mushy. I'm purchased bag of oranges that they freeze and you can't tell are mushy and rotten until they thaw out on your counter. I've purchased strawberries only to find three or four rotten in the container.
This morning I was making Grape Salad for my neighbor's Memorial Day picnic and wanted to show up with a nice dish to share. I tried five grapes from different bags as the recipe calls for sweet, crisp grapes. However, almost all the bags were mushy and tasteless and two days away from going into the garbage!
I was berated by Andy, the produce manager, for "grazing" and told to go to Ingles which I promptly did.
Congratulations Andy! You saved Food Lion 30 cents and kicked out a customer that's spent thousands of dollars at the store. And while you didn't recognize me...I certainly recognized you after being at the store many times.
So, my dear friends, save yourself the headache and go to Ingles, Walmart or Aldees (which has quite good produce!).
I've actually never "returned" all the bad produce that I've purchased from Food Lion...I have better things to do, but maybe Andy would like to reimburse me for all the crap produce that I've gotten there...
Read moreI went to the Food Lion in Franklin NC today as I have on a few occasions. Until today I was impressed with the store. Today however I was met at the door by a rather unfriendly employee who immediately began harassing me about my service dog. She follows me around the store as I shop and I try to ignore her and get the items I need as I get to the last item on my list a group of children yelling, clapping, and and stomping loudly approach. My dog begans to bark and this woman never more then arms length from my dog while I was in the store tells me I will have to remove my service animal from the store. I for the second time point to my dogs if card and state she is a service animal she does not have to be put outside. She then tells me my dog is not a service dog because service dogs do not bark. I did not know food lion employees were trained in this area. But I am contacting my attorney. My rights were violated today so we're my animals and it was an embarrassment to be singled out and...
Read moreThey were out of turkeys 2 days after sell started, the market manager had a flippant attitude. When I asked him about turkeys he said you all ready know we're out. When you see a big empty case. Then the cashier kept making mistakes scanning then removing...I was confused..the woman who came to help bag, Amy was dismissing my concerns and was rude about it. When I asked why the pies were on there so many times..she got short with me...she said she took them off. Like ok that's it. No further talking...thought I was in boot camp...anyways my first time at this particular Food Lion...I won't be back...the rudest people ever...and I did get overcharged but it is a lesson learned. Awful shopping experience...do yourself a favor. Drive to the Sylva store...great people....
