I was looking to purchase a meat bundle and I found Schott’s had online ordering and a number of build your own packages which seems like a great idea. I placed my order Friday evening to be picked up on Saturday, October 2 at 9:30 AM. Paid for everything online and got a confirmation as well. I arrived at the store at 9:30 AM on Saturday and the butcher had no idea regarding the order I placed and the lady at the cash register upfront said she didn’t see anything either until she went and double checked on the computer and found my order. She apologized and wrote down the order on one of their order forms that they have and gave it to the butcher and he proceeded to fill the order. I was disappointed that the order was not ready and I had to wait around for over half an hour until the order was put together. It put me behind for a church meeting that I had at 10:30 AM that morning since I had to wait for the order to be put together as opposed to it being ready when it was supposed to. I do appreciate the butcher being able to take care of it promptly and as quickly as he could. The cuts of meat look very good and I will find out once I am able to cook some if that is the case as far as taste goes. The lady at the cash register upon me departing gave me two loaves of bread for no charge for my inconvenience which was a nice gesture, however, it seemed a bit strange far as compensation goes. We are not big bread eaters so I ended up giving them to someone else. It kind of seemed like a half hearted gesture for the inconvenience but I guess something is better than nothing. 🤷🏼♂️ Not sure if I will be placing an order with them in the future or not because I’m still on the fence about it with the way things went this time. I will say this, the butcher and the lady at the register were both very kind and very polite.
12/14/2021 Update: So the meat I got in the meat bundle was good. The only thing so far is the stew beef was a little tough even after cooking in a crockpot for six hours. Pork chops and boneless chicken breast are good. Haven’t cooked the sirloin steak or chuck roast yet. Will post another update after those have...
Read moreVisited a year ago, in the hot summer. Jonesing for family favorite Prairie Farms LRC (Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake). Ice cream section bare, picked over, freezer crystals on wrappers, zero selection. Bought some offbrand substitute (ice crystals included at no extra cost), just to keep domestic tranquility. Didn't work. Drove down to Gaustello's Village Market in Saint Clair Shores for a $4 tub. {Family is serious about their ice cream). A long standing partner of the Spartan/OurFamily organization, the only thing special about the current location is the beutiful exterior and the name on the door. All the magic of times past has gone. Never again.
BUT WAIT... Real grocery people back in charge. It's an art, a passion, a calling. Only the special folk in our land can do neighborhood food, so we'll give the old place another look. Seeing all the glowing reviews, I couln't imagine where they were talking about. NOW I KNOW. WELCOME...

Friendly staff!
The prices are a bit higher than big box stores on general merchandise, but that's expected of a local family owned business, and you're paying a little extra to support the community, and the convenience, and not have to deal with super long lines like a Meijer or Walmart.
I'm in the store every other day for one thing or another, and my parents and grandparents have always shopped there as it's the local corner market, so is practically family as the community goes.
The new renovations in the past couple years are really nice.
They also have good bundle deals on fresh veggies and meat. Again, some things cost a bit more, but you're getting better quality, so it's...
