Walkersville Eyecare — Local services in Frederick

The Wolfen Family has done business at Walkersville Eye Care for over 20 years. In the 20 years I have had nothing but high praise for the doctors and staff. I have recommended them in the past to all of my family and friends. I stopped by today to request a copy of my prescription and was looking to get the PD measurements from my file. I needed this info to purchase a pair of motorcycle glasses I saw online. They were able to give me my basic prescription info but would not give me the PD measurement info that I needed. When one of the staff members overheard me requesting my eye info he jumped in and said quote: “I’m not giving you that information, why should I do all the work for another company to get your business”. I could tell that he was irritated when he came out of the back and saw a full lobby of customers. He then referenced that this is company policy and Walkersville Eye Care would be liable if he gave me this info and something happened. I then asked to speak to the store manager. She never came out to discuss this with me but sent someone out to tell me that for $25 dollars she would give me my PD measurements. All I can say to that is that is bullshit. It’s a shame that they would play these games with a lifelong customer all over $25. It is quite obvious to me that something has changed with Walkersville Eye Care and not for the good. I have spent thousands of dollars over the years on frames and prescriptions for not only me but my wife and two kids. As I said in the store politely, I will take my business somewhere...

PlEASE READ MY REVIEW! If I can give 0 star I'll definity do it, the front desk lady made mistake on my appointment date twice! I walked in the store to make appointment, the date was set on 10/22 and that lady literally wrote a note to me (I also took a picture on my phone too), but I received a message said my appointment was on 10/15 so I missed it, this is ridiculious!

I called them after that and I was told that the front desk lady mistook me for someone else, how could that happen? I give her all my information include my name, date of birth, insurrence and phone number, I don't know why on earth would this lady thought I was someone else! And now I doubt if I do the eye exam, they will give me someone else's prescription.

That lady blame me in the phone said I didn't correct her, I was shocked, is this how they threat their customer? BLAMED the CUSTOMER for their own mistake??? I gave her my insurence card and all my informaion, I did all I can do! What else do I supposed to do???? They BLAMED the CUSTOMER for their own mistake, that's unprofessional and unacceptable! I don't understand why a 4,9/5 rate store would do this, now I doubt if I do the eye exam, they will give me someone else's prescription. I feel so disappointed. Never ever go...

I live in Frederick and take the time to go to Walkersville Eyecare to meet my needs for eye exams and glasses. I have been a clients about 20 years. I recently forgot that my appointment had been rescheduled due to the Doctor going to a graduation. Although it was my fault that I did not correct my calendar with the new appointment time, the Doctor saw me. I know this was an inconvenience for him. And although he had somewhere to go, he took his time during the exam....just as he always has. I needed occupational glasses in addition to my progressive glasses. I needed the occupational glasses to be able to switch from viewing the computer to reading my documents. This second pair of glasses has been a life saver for me. I also love the employees who help me locate the best glasses to fit my face and will continue to take the time to adjust them as often as I need until they feel perfect. I do not know if Walkersville Eyecare is expensive. I only know I have one pair of eyes and I want to feel comfortable seeing. I like knowing I am treated as a client, not as credit card number.
