Oh my 5 stars, this is the best Indian food I've ever had. I ordered food from Indian Wok with my family because we'd been seeing great reviews about the food and it's so new to the area we figured we'd give it a shot. Indian Wok did not disappoint. Let me tell you about all the things we ordered in case you need some recommendations (because we had a hard time trying to choose).
Vegetable Samosas: The samosas were delicious. They were filled with potato and peas and came with various chutneys for dipping. I'm not sure what each kind of chutney is, but I really liked the spicy green one, it complemented the mildness of the samosa well. And the spiciness isn't a "burn your mouth off" heat, it's the pleasant heat that just adds a little flavor boost.
Sesame Chicken/Cauliflower: We got both the chicken and cauliflower options. I've never had Indo-Chinese dishes so I was expecting your traditional Chinese sesame chicken where it's got a sweet sesame sauce. We realized very quickly that was not the case, and were pleasantly surprised. It's spicy, but again, not in a "melt your face off" way. It's a heat that lingers on the back of the palette and makes you take just a moment longer before that next bite. This dish is going to be GREAT for anyone who has my same problem of shoveling in food you really enjoy and not actually taking a decent amount of time to appreciate what you're eating.
Vegetable Korma: I really enjoyed this one, and I was very surprised. I'm not a coconut milk fan and I know korma typically uses it. I'm not sure if Indian Wok's recipe uses coconut milk, but I loved this dish. I was really happy that cauliflower was the vegetable used, I love cauliflower as a meat substitute. The sauce was a little sweet and flavorful and there was so much! Makes a great option for sharing around the table.
Paneer Tikka Masala: I LOVE Tikka Masala. It's my go-to when I'm not sure what to get, so obviously I had to get it. Oh my gosh, it's the best I've ever had, I'll probably never cook it at home again because I can't replicate the nuances and complexities that are in Indian Wok's sauce. The flavor just keeps growing as you take each bite. This was also the first dish I've had paneer in, I usually go for a meat option but had a vegetarian in the group and wanted to share with her. She loved it too.
100/10, will DEFINITELY be...
Read moreI wanted to really like this place but the prices and portions just completely threw off the experience. Firstly the restaurant itself is very strange, just pretty much a counter and you can’t see anything other than the walkway to the kitchen. It didn’t seem overly clean. Not a place to eat in for sure.
When you think Indian food, you get a few things and share and it’s normally a lot of food. When we picked up the bag, it was so light and it was such a red flag. We paid close to 60$ for three main dishes, one naan, and a rice pudding. I think that is absolutely ridiculous when you open it up and it ends up being mini containers or each food! (In pictures attached, they are less than 5 inches in diameter. It’s not normal size take out containers…) In the chicken dishes there were maybe 10 pieces of cubed chicken. The vegetable korma while pretty tasty, they are using a frozen vegetable medley for the green beans/carrot and peas. Why are you not cooking these from fresh with those prices? Butter chicken also was ok for taste, a little heavy on the tomato in the sauce. Out of 60$ we had literally three plates of food total…
Best thing out of everything was the rice pudding and the naan. It saved the meal.
Would not get again due to price, portions, and...
Read moreOrdered through DoorDash- The “mango lassi” is straight up yogurt and mango pulp, which they wrote on the cup but not the menu. That is not mango lassi, that’s mango yogurt.
Even worse was the Goat Biryani. The “goat” was almost entirely bone, including small shards. We ordered mild but what we received was incredibly hot. There’s no way it could be considered “mild”, at all. Between the sharp shards of bone and the heat, the meal was inedible. It cost nearly $40, and I’m almost certain it was the vestiges of someone else’s order. You couldn’t pay me to eat here and all the positive reviews are shocking to me.
Please note that I triple checked the location. This review is for this establishment, at this address. I am not confused about the location, as the owner has implied on other 1...
