Voices Book Nook — Local services in Freeport

I went there with a donation of books and they were very rude to me. They close at 4pm most nights and I have school during the day so I had called the number online and asked if I could still take a box of books to donate even if it was around four that day and she said that would be fine but when I had gotten there at 4:05 all of the ladies were just very mean. I had explained the situation but they were still very snarky. There is nothing wrong with the place and I have shopped here before and had no problems, I understand that you don’t want people over after you’ve closed but still I’m donating books to a good cause and I really don’t thing they should have reacted the way they did. I have been going to voices for years and I love it. I love that it benefits voices and I love books. But Friday the 10 my daughter and I went in the afternoon to look for books. My son collects Stephen king and I found 4 of them for him plus some others for myself and my daughter. As I was checking out I noticed the volunteer was reading a religious book. I didn't think anything of it, I don't judge what others choose to read or believe but then the volunteer said very rudely enjoy your Stephen king books with a rude judgemental look on her face. Every year I have my grandkids pick out books for Christmas. This yrs while we were taking the 2 youngest granddaughters to see SantaClaus we seen the voices book store. The grandkids had a great time looking and finding books that they were interested in reading. The ladies were great with helping them find what they were looking for .
