I visited here for a small cut on my finger thinking I may need a stitch or two. Doctor came in, glued the cut closed and sent me on my way and that was that. Well a month later I receive a letter in the mail showing my bill for the visit being just shy of $1000! Obviously being upset about it, I requested an itemized receipt. That comes in the mail a few days later showing two items. One was billing for the level of visit I had (which was the least severe) and the other was billing for the rest of the service, which came with no extra details. Here's what they used during my visit: blood pressure cuff, pulse ox, water, soap, glue, gauze, tape, and bandage wrap. Thats it! Nothing else. So why in the world am I paying $1000 to cover a visit where materials cost less than $20 and services were just reading blood pressure and oxygen levels! The billing department was absolutely NO HELP what so ever and that was after spending nearly an hour on hold. And thats not the end of it! 6-7 months later I get another bill in the mail from a third party (ECS Western Michigan PC) for $160 to, and I quote from them "pay for the doctor that treated you at your visit" So you're telling me that after paying $1000 on services to Gerber, none of that was used to pay the doctor too!? What an absolute scam...
Read moreonly giving the emergency room 1 star well because thats the lowest allowed. if you can go to the ER in Grand rapids... You will wait in the ER lobby WITHOUT triage longer than it would take you to go to GR. I was there Friday night again last night (Sunday) with my dad. Dad is a stroke patient with high blood pressure and has a full time cathader, paralized on his right side... Friday night the Emergency staff changed out his cath and sent him home, even with a BP of 212/160... stoke level... we asked him to be admited for observation, they declined.. We ended up there again less than 48 hours later because they failed to inflate the baloon to keep his cath in and it had come out... they made us sit in the lobby for 2 and a half hours with no tiage, dads pain level at a 10 and his BP rising... All of this stated to intake. I am worried he will have another stoke and the ER staff did NOTHING. They were taking minor injuries over things that could be life threating. He only recieved care after I asked them to call an ambulance to take him to Butterworth to recieve care because at that point he was in to much pain for me to safely put him back in my car. The ER department is a Joke and understaffed, but they do...

The hospital staff, including the radiology team, are AMAZING! I was greeted with kindness and smiles (yes, they're wearing mask, but their smiles shine through) 😷 😊
The receptionist welcomed me and was very helpful and kind. Thank you!
Before getting the MRI, the nurse (Amy) met with me to explain the procedure step-by-step. She answered all of my questions. She made me feel like a person, not a number. This helped tremendously. Thank you!
The doctor (Dr. Griffith) was amazing, and we had a few laughs. I really appreciate that. Thank you!
