After today's experience I would leave zero stars if I could. On June 13 2024 I purchased a brother printer with a 4 year warranty. At that visit the store was very busy and severely understaffed. Now today July 12, 2024 after contacting brother support with a problem in which could not be solved. The told me the printer needed to be sent in under the manufacturer 30 day warranty and covered by my 4 year warranty I had purchased. They told me I could go to the staples in fremont and either get the same printer if they had one or return it and get a different one. Of course the exact one was not in stock so I went with returning the printer as I need a printer to be able to do my job. I did call and talk to someone at staple and verified that I could do this and he said yes. I brought the printer as well as the unused cartridges in to return them and the man who "helped" me for one did not want to do the refund because it was after their 14 day store return policy. After speaking with his I'm assuming manager who I spoke to this morning he went ahead and did the refund. However the warranty was not transferable to the new device and could not be refunded at all.. my husband and I went and grabbed the new printer and the man working with us very sarcasticly said to make sure I test the printer before the 14 day return window was over. I informed the man that I am a business customer and print probably 6000 pages a week. It is not my fault nore did I plan for the printer to decide to quit working in less then 1 month of use. Which begs the question what is the point of buying a 4 year warranty if I'm just going to get a lecture from a very rude associate that the return window is 14 days. Thanks to that associate staples you have now lost a business customer who used to purchase all their office...
Read moreRecently this store ran a contest called PUSH It Forward Contest, an opportunity for small businesses to win cash to help pay for online marketing efforts. A local business called Maple Creek Gunsmithing, (a licensed thus legal) firearms store submitted an application. They were denied and here is an excerpt of the response from the store as to why they are rejected. We’re sorry, but your small business entry into the Staples PUSH It Forward Contest has been rejected* for the following reason(s):
Entry contains content that promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing); promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous; promotes any particular political agenda or message; is obscene or offensive; or endorses any form of hate or hate group.
Please visit the Staples PUSH It Forward Contest if you wish to submit a new entry for your small business.
There is no evidence that the store promotes illegal drug activity or any violation of laws. However Staples includes them in the hate groups and other unlawful activities which I find highly objectionable. Additionally since the activity of legal firearm use is a Constitutionally protected act is is un American to reject their application based solely or in part because of their legal, protected behavior. Stores such as Staples operate on a close profit margin and to alienate any legal operating group seems to risk it's bottom line. After all everything Staples sells is available elsewhere in...
Read moreStaples does a great job of being a reliable, one-stop shop for office and business needs. They offer a wide selection of supplies—from basic stationery to tech items and office furniture—making it easy to find what you need in one place. The print and copy center is especially convenient, with fast turnaround times for everything from business cards to banners and even passport photos. I also appreciate how seamless their online and in-store experience is, with same-day pickup and helpful inventory tracking. The stores are clean, well-organized, and the staff are usually knowledgeable and willing to help. Their rewards program adds extra value for frequent shoppers, and the regular promotions make it easy to save on essentials. Great resource for both individuals and small business owners.
While the store was sparse, I understand due to a lot of online orders these days, but I can appreciate having a real store and real people to assist. Staff is very helpful and nice. If you need something now, Staples has...
