Wise Olde Owl — Local services in Fremont

Everyone should walk through both sides of this amazing place at least once, i promise you will not regret it(just please remember it is not a bigbox store so please hold toddlers/small kids hands, we all liked to touch and play with stuff at that age and didn't understand rules completely). 100% It's one of my favorite places! They have literally everything, it's all unique, and the only place i get my incense(best variety and quality). The new book addition to the store is great, it's nice having a place to buy books in town again. I go multiple times a year and end up forgetting everything else around and just wandering around the store for as long as I can. Everyone should stop in at least once, I can promise it's worth it! ☆They just had their 1 year anniversary yesterday for the bookstore, it was amazing!! Live music(great band & songs played), great staff interactions(as usual), and i struggled choosing my purchases for the day as usual(I love everything in both sides of the stores) so I wandered around listening to music and procrastinated checking out. I really can't say how great Wise Old Owl(both sides of the store) is. It is the closest thing to a home away from home/comfort place since the Hastings...

First time I came in two months ago was a wonderful experience my daughter and I had a great time! Second time I brought a friend …who loved it shopped a little. Both previous visits the gentleman owner with brown hair helped us is kind and fun to talk to. Today though we came back to buy a birthday gift this our third visit my daughter and I again…and right away the owner with white hair kept following us. I felt like I couldn’t shop and have fun like before. Then he criticized my daughter for touching one of the hanging models…completely different disheartening experience. I became a repeat customer in two months …plus as my daughter ages she would probably shop here too. Be mindful of kindness to your customers, as you do carry toys …so of course children will touch. I may have purchased more today but felt unwanted. Just got the birthday...

Best practice in this store is to shop with the store owner by your side. Otherwise you will spend the end of your visit being questioned about perceived missing items. I understand the idea of loss prevention but harassing 2 women and a toddler over an $8 gnome might cost you good reviews and future business. When you were notified by your coworker that the missing item had actually been sold earlier in the day, no apology was made? Not worth traveling to this over crowded gift shop to be treated...
