Milady Coffeehouse — Restaurant in Fremont

We've been in Fremont several days, and each day, we've made it a point to stop at Milady's coffeehouse. The staff is beyond friendly, welcoming and helpful. My husband and I have tried their coffee and hot teas; each time, we've been pleased. They make homemade muffins, scones, and other breakfast items as well. The only breakfast food I've tried so far was a fresh blueberry muffin and it was delicious! The shop is set up well. It's beautifully decorated with a touch of modern & vintage items,has lots of seating that's not cramped, and has an overall great vibe. They have lots of live plants all throughout, which adds to the space. Some of their plants are for sale as well, which is a great souvenir in my opinion. If you have small children, they have a cute little corner set up with a sofa, couple chairs, small toys & items to keep the kiddos busy while you get your caffeine fix. Which isn't always available in a location like this, so while I don't have littles anymore, as a mom, I absolutely appreciated this area. I could go on and on, but there's no need. A group of us came in for a Christmas lunch from Omaha and Fremont. We had no trouble finding a table. I say this so you know it wasn't overly busy. There were 3 ladies behind the counter that I saw. It was 11:30 on a Monday. 6 of our 11 were children. We ordered Mac and cheese for them only to be told they were out of it. We also ordered a cinnamon roll and again we were told they were out. Reason was manager on vacation. Our order was picked up in pieces. I went back to ask for the chips and again for the chocolate croissant. I was advised to wait at the other end of the counter which I had already done with no one there to ask for the rest of our lunch. I then had to wait in the Order Here line again. The sandwich but no chips. Chocolate croissant missing. Cheddar Broccoli soup was lukewarm/consistency of mashed potatos. The trashcan to toss our paper products in was overflowing leaving customers no choice but to use the dish bin. Very disheartening all...

The food was mediocre, the service was lousy, slow. Four people behind the counter, only one working. Save your $. Not worth the hype. Really, fremont, you need to step up your game. After a response from the owner, I want to reiterate the fact that there were four people behind the counter and only one working. I realize rush hours, however, when it starts to slow down you don't slow down your service. Also my breakfast sandwich was horrible and my husband's breakfast Burrito was nothing special. It use to be so much better! I don't mind paying the price if it is worth it. As a business owner I would rake this very seriously and improve.
