I have had the most unbelievably frustrating experience with Boot Barn.
Currently I am being scammed out of $203.
Here's the order of events. I'm going to refer to Boot Barn as BB here on out.
I buy a pair of work boots from BB online. They don't fit are so tight crush my feet. -$180
I return the boots to BB and get a gift card. +$180
I buy a pair of boots online with the gift card and some more money on top of that with a discount code for a first time club discount. -$203 originally $239.
Those boots don't fit. Too large. Size 13d.
I buy two more pairs of the same boots BB online at full price 12ee and 12d. -$239 for one pair and -$239 for another.
I've now got $681 dollars in boots.
I go back to BB, the store clerk I had couldn't figure out how to price match the 12d to the 13d and return the 12e and 13d for a return of $478(239+239). So I return 3 pairs of boots to BB and buy the 12d back at the $203 price.
I believed I was now back to +$681 from all the returns(emails received said I was). And then -$203 from repurchasing the boots.
Except, I get another email saying I'm only getting $23 back. So I end up getting the $180 gift card back and $23 to my card.
So now I have $203 of my money spent and a $180 gift card I have no use for.
I go back to boot barn again.
I explain the situation. I want to return these boots and get $203 back on my card. Use the gift card I received in the mail for $180 and then spend $23 more on my card. So I return the the boots and rebuy per the above. Couple days later I haven't seen the money return on my card as discussed with the clerk. I look at my return receipt. When that clerk returned the boots he labeled the return as without a receipt. I have all the receipts and I had them with me and I showed them to him. So that's not true. Per the return receipt he gave me I am now seeing I was supposed to receive a gift card for $203 which I didn't receive. So now I have an unaccounted for $203 store credit. I just want my money back on my credit card and I had the receipt to get that back as standard with a return.
Someone from customer service has got to reach out and get this sorted ASAP. I am so tired of driving 1 hours back and forth to BB to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in to buy some boots, a hat, and some shirts. I walked around looking for a worker. All four were standing at the register talking. When I asked for help, two of the workers just looked at one another and one said they could help. She showed me the brannock foot measure. She told me what my size was in length. I asked about the two measures on the side. She said that those measures didn't matter bc the boots they sell are not sized like the measure. She then walked to the back room and did not ask if I wanted help looking for boots.
I tried to find some boots so I could try on several different widths to find my fit. I ended up passing on getting some boots bc I wasn't confident in my size. I consider a purchase this large too important to wing it.
I was looking for long sleeve pearl snap and a vaquero straw hat. The store was so messy. Clothes were strewn about. The styles and sizes of clothes were mixed. What hats they had were a mess as well. All different brands and sizes all mixed together.
All 4 employees just stood at the register visiting with each other the whole time I was in the store. I had a fellow shopper ask me for help. I told them the workers were up front. They said " Ah, they look busy" and turned around.
It was hard to shop due to messiness. I have been to thrift stores that were more organized.
If Boot Barn wants to run sloppy stores, they should start lowering prices. I found a shirt I really liked but could not justify the price with the bad shopping experience.
I left empty handed and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you are just looking to get boots to dress up and play cowboy/cowgirl every once and a while this place is for you.
However, if you are a real American worker who is serious about getting quality and genuine comfort for your hard earned money go to Red Wing where they back their work wear products with a no questions asked return policy that allows you to wear them at work to break in and find out how comfortable they REALLY are!
Or you can just roll the dice at Boot Barn hope and pray that what you just paid $200++ for doesn't cause agonizing pain when you put them to the test on the job. Just know that they accept NO returns that show ANY wear whatsoever including their own store branded "work boot" product lines.
I have ZERO respect for any and all who market and sell to American workers at premium price points for not "MADE IN USA" comfort/quality yet refuse to stand behind their products. Apparently this is just another Publicly traded corporation expanding stores all over the country where priority #1 is profit margins. You can do better than this Boot Barn and still be highly profitable.
