I ordered a refrigerator from them and spent over $1500.
According to their website: “Open Communication • You will receive a text or phone call the evening before your delivery • A 4-hour arrival window will be set’
In reality: no text, email, or phone call was ever made to inform me of my four hour window. I spent over an hour trying to find someone from the Home Depot Fridley and their Delivery Center who could tell me when my refrigerator would be delivered tomorrow. Every employee I spoke with was unable to tell me my 4 hour window for tomorrow, including their assistant store manager,, Tom.I have two children living at home and need to feed them while waiting for the delivered refrigerator,. The problem is that I also need to unload and unplug it before the crew comes, per their directions, yet have no idea when they will arrive. They could arrive as early as 630 AM or as late as 6:00 PM. Also, I won’t be able to leave my house, or I may miss them. I also risk them refusing to deliver it and set it up. If my refrigerator isn’t unloaded. Though by doing this too far in advance I risk having my groceries spoil. I explained the situation to Tom, the assistant store manager, who told me that I can simply reschedule if it’s not convenient for me. I find that answer totally unacceptable, as I’ve already taken the day off of work and currently have a damaged refrigerator that barely works. All of the Home Depot people whom I spoke with today did not seem to know how to effectively assist me in obtaining the time slot, and did not contact the company who does the deliveries on my behalf. I spoke with Justin at the Home Depot’s delivery center in the afternoon and was reassured by him that the delivery team would call me. I was encouraged to call the store as well. When I called the store, I was told that I should call the delivery center. The person I spoke with at the store, Sergio, said that someone would call me from the delivery team but no one ever Did. I called back Justin from Home Depot delivery Service again snd he told me the delivery team office was closed now so he could not reach out to them. As mentioned before, I spoke with the assistant store manager Tom who was also not helpful and seemed to suggest that I should just reschedule if it wasn’t a convenient time for me when/if they show up. I asked him if someone from his store would find out the time slot in the morning and call me and he said that was not possible either. I took the day off of work and I have to wait the whole day for a team that may not even show up. I can’t reach out to them myself as their direct number is not being provided to me. The day of the scheduled delivery I called the HD delivery department and was told to call back at 7:00 when the delivery team are available. When I called back, I was told that actually they won’t be delivering it today. They won’t be delivering it for another three days. With no explanation for the reschedule except for they’re very sorry for my inconvenience.. Unbelievable. I called the store manager, but she wasn’t available today. If you want reliable professional service this is not the company to do business with. I am stunned by their lack of follow-through and professionalism. I was not compensated for my missed day of work, or any inconveniences that I incurred as a result of their errors. Now I will need to waste a Saturday waiting for them to hopefully show up. There are other companies such as Warners’ Stellian that are reputable and reliable that you should consider instead. I will certainly not be back as a customer to Home Depot after...
Read moreUpdating to 1 star whish I could give 0, went in again for help with the "final" countertop that was delivered as it was bowing out from the 1" lip and left in tears im so frustrated. Cherie and Nour were always rude, Casey was at least very nice although here manager wouldn't allow her to help any further. They refunded us and wouldn't allow us to order another countertop so now I'm stuck with no working bathroom sink while I find another place I can order from that allows self installation because I can't afford to pay for install labor. Will never be returning to this homedepot location again and I highly advise anyone looking to do a remodel with countertops/cabinets to go elsewhere. Neither of these issues were our fault and they wouldn't correct a warpped countertop. Pictures attached showing the warping of the lip pulling the countertop away from the wall.
Update #2 went to Menards and they were able to help me, same material and finish options for half the price. The Menards gentleman let me know they often get people coming over from issues with homedepot like what I went through. Highly recommend going to Menards instead, their software was also an actual 3d diagram rather than homedepot drawing stuff on a piece of paper in pen. Menards also has 2 week lead time rather than 3-5 + delivery window like homedepot. I guess thanks for the terrible service, now I'm getting the same product faster and cheaper with better customer service from Menards.
I wouldn't recommend this location for any countertop/cabinet remodel projects. I placed an order for a customer countertop, the dimensions of the overhang weren't properly explained so the countertop came 1" too short. I had to recorder and was told "good thing this is a cheap order or we wouldn't be doing this". It wasn't cheap to me so that was off putting. It also delayed my project by several weeks. Everytime I go in person no one can ever help either, crazy only 2 people out of an entire store can help with a wrong order. Not great for homeowners who also work full-time and need to work on their house outside of 9-5 but still vastly inside of the stores hours. Then the reorder came wrong from email confirmations of the proper edge and the store wouldn't help. Still have 2 stars because the installers and delivery guys are always great, not their fault the countertop designers and team aren't...
Read moreI’ve officially entered middle age and fallen in love with Home Depot. I’ve gotten so many obscure things I’ve needed, the kinds of things where I don’t even know their name and just show an employee a picture of. And they always know!
I have two cons for this store. One is when I was buying a home security camera, I was first sold one that had been tried out and returned. I know this because one of the two adhesive strips in the box was missing but the backing paper to it was kindly included. The film on the camera was…askew lol. I returned it and when I exchanged it for a different brand camera, I opened it in store and it also just off looking. I thought that I was being picky but after buying more cameras from Amazon, where the contents were pristinely new, I’m not going to buy electronics again from the store.
My second con has to do with disability. I have this thing that makes all my joints hurt. I can walk, but for a minute or two before I get dizzy and can’t focus. I’ve recently been getting up the courage to use the motorized carts after I tried one and was able to stay in the store for an entire hour. It was so nice and the longest I’ve been in a store in probably a decade.
I’ve only used those carts about 4 times but when I say the last time I was stared down, it was wild. I think it was because I would stand up from the seat to get a product (from a seat you can’t reach much) and sit back down. One guy started me down so hard as he walked past me, he just looked so angry. I said good morning as he powered by me.
I get that there isn’t a lot of understanding around disability and the use of motorized cars. They’re made fun of a lot. But if I literally couldn’t walk, how would I get into the cart? Some people live with pain and it sucks but it’s just what it is. I don’t want to be using the cart but the benefits outweigh that feeling. Home Depot however is not somewhere I’d use a motorized cart again though. Which is annoying because the...
