Sad to say this is the first time I have felt uncomfortable and experienced racism since moving to Gainesville two years ago, and let alone this experience on a University campus where you would expect they would have diversity and have seen Asian people before. I played my first 18-hole game today and felt extreme pressure, rudeness, and racist comments from STAFF members who made my experience horrible. I understand that there is a pace that needs to be kept, but you have to treat people as humans when speaking to them. One staff member was excessively aggressive to my party when all we said was "of course", "we understand", "you can let them pass us" and were bombarded with "NO QUESTIONS ASKED", when we didn't even ask anything? If you want the university team to pass us, sure, be nice about it, the team was nice and respectful so why are you treating us like trash? If we were a group of white men, for sure we would not have been treated like this. We were only respectful back and now I regret not telling this man off for how disrespectful he was to my group. Next there was another staff member who was better in tone but so very ignorant asking to talk to us about pace, and said we were getting better since our first hole was slow, IT WAS OUR FIRST HOLE AND FIRST TIME, and the rude staff member didn't make my nerves any better. Then proceeds to explain how we need to keep up pace and sure, we nodded, it made sense. After his explanation he proceeds to ask us if we all speak English?? and if we understood?? He's talking to a group of PHDs, Engineers and Consultants who speak fluent English but because we are Asian? Such ignorant behavior and I was too shocked to say anything because what the heck? Once again, if we had white skin and were from a European country I'm sure he wouldn't have asked such a rude question to us. 4/5 for how well they upkeep the property, -1000/5 for rude service and ignorant people working here. Might go back since it's a nice course, will definitely be rude back and speak out if this happens again. I was nice and felt bad already for being slow, but why should I feel bad when I am learning? I am a paying customer and deserve to be treated with respect. You...
Read morePlayed a round on 5/17/25. Course in good shape. My problem is not course related. After my round I left a Bushnell Wingman view Blue tooth speaker in the golf cart. When I realized my blunder the next day, I called the pro shop and no speaker had been placed with the lost & found. I then visited the pro shop and described the employee who was working the cart return when I left the cart there (1 employee and my cart was the only one there for return at that moment). Employee was off. There was no speaker in Lost & found. I filed a report with police and they could not find speaker in Lost and found. And then a miracle! The employee who was working the cart return area comes to work on Monday and he finds the speaker 👀 when no one else could locate it. The moral of the story is, don't lose anything at Mark Bostick GC. It's not a lost and found but a lost and keep over there unless the police...
Read moreThis is the worst run golf course I have ever been to in my entire life. The staff has no proper golf club training and I have never seen nor met the golf pros. This course’s beauty and maintenance is so awesome but wasted due to the service. Almost all the workers are rude and bland. The range is too short with bad mats and terrible range balls. The course is so often closed or blocked off for the 30 collegiate level golfers when the college golfers aren’t even there. The parking lot is not big enough as well. I really hope the management and the university can clean up the way the course is run and the staff, so the service can be equal to the level of shape the golf...
