Was a resident in Oct 2016- Apt 2017. Asked to be let out of my lease for a job over 4 hours away. Went to trucking school near Dallas, Texas. Joe the manager saw me at a Walmart that was on my route. She thought I lied to her. So she reported me to the credit bureau saying I owe $2253. I called all the courthouses district court and two other courthouses. There was never a case filed or judgement made. I asked Joe for copy of lease to review contract because was never given a copy of my lease. To see what they could do or not do. I called TAA about being able to be let out of my lease for school and employment. I submitted a copy of employment letter from trucking company saying I have to be there by the 2nd of April. I couldn't afford to pay rent there and live in another city. So Joe verbally said she let me out of the lease. I asked for shorter lease to not break it. Was told they only do 12 month lease. Hypothesis: if my rent is $699 or $799 for a 2bd 1.5 bath for a 12 month lease. Then that means I owe for 7 month lease. At $699 * 7= $4893 & at $799 * 7= $5593. My storage where I kept all my documents when I left Houston was broken until several times while I was on the road. So I don't have a copy of these documents. Joe will not give me a copy of the emails. Second part, from the other reviews let me confirm some things. From my first weekend living their check fire department records on 1-2 Oct 2016 I called in to report dumpster fire to keep cars from blowing up. 28 Oct 2016 was when I requested copy of lease, still don't have. 31 Oct 2016 send email and pictures of where someone was trying to breaking into my apartment with crowbar. Few days later they had to replace my door and frame. 2 Jan 2017 here is copy of my email to Joe: Please come asap to replace both toilets. New Year's Eve toilet started leaking-called in around 4:30 p.m. & left message for maintenance to come fix. No return call still have not seen anyone & no call back. 2) This was one of the things I listed on move-in list as a problem. 3) I got a friend of mine to solve my reach problem; just a suggestion hire another company. No signs of drilled holes for extermination. Had some stuff come up missing from there visit. No longer need them in my apartment. 4) Early notice: I will be moving out June or July of 2017 & what are the relet fee here for that. Since never got copy of my lease. 7 Jan 2017 canceled exterminator because found out I had an infestation in the walls and they were supposed to cut pieces out of the walls before I moved in to treat apartment and they did not because it would have been evidence of the patchwork in the walls. Exterminator was stealing my property instead of treating my apartment. So I looked on online for remedies and ended up going to a feed store and purchasing something that actually worked. 23 Jan 2017 reported ceiling buckling from water damage from upstairs neighbor tub overflowing from them washing clothes there. Got pictures. In one of the emails I asked to be moved to another area in the apartment complex was denied. High sex traffic in apartment across from mine. Reported to office nothing done. Believe people were running drugs from the upstairs apartment; also reported nothing done and wasn't allowed to be moved. Told her because coming home late from class at college that a car full of men would always be near my breaze-way and front door. Again, nothing done. Saw evidence in parking lot of a mans' shirt and wallet found after he was badly beaten. Turned in the office, keep my head down and took the job opportunity to get way. So if the school and job had not accepted in April was going to a crane school up north further way in June or July 2017. Lastly, it began to literally rain in my apartment in March when my upstairs neighbor toilet broke and they didn't either report it or no one ever came to fix it. I hope the manager and the corporate company NorthStar Group reads this review. Thank you listening to the color of law, and genocide that they have used against me. To be...
Read moreThis is been going on since we moved here. We try to pay the rent and it didnât wanna take our payment. We tried it. Several times we went to the office showed her the manager on top of that they charged us $189.89 extra with a note on our door, saying that we have 24 hours to pay that amount. If not, weâre going to get locked out and put a pad on the door where we wonât be able to get into our apartment. The issue was on their side because the manager assistant manager Nancy called corporate in corporate supposedly told her to let us pay by money order so we paid by money order I asked about the 189.89 to be returned to us because it was their fault not ours. We had tried several times to pay the rent and their system does not take it.Nancy (assistant manager) told us that serveral residents been having the same issues as we have paying the rent with thier online system. We are in November we tried paying rent 1st of the months same problem I called spoke to Nancy she catches an attitude and says to me why donât you get a prepaid card why do we need prepaid card when we have bank cards she was being sarcastic so we got a letter on our door that we had til the 7th of December to move out I went to go talk to Nancy at the office same oh you can get prepaid card to pay we got a new bank card etc oh we even got a prepaid card same issue not appecting our payment for rent sent an email to Nancy no response at all per Nancy manager she even said since a lot people are having issues with the system we will be going back to money order they are very quick to give you a note on the door to demanding to pay for something that not your fault and try to lock you out of your apartment this been an ongoing issue I sent Nancy a email that I need corporate number ASAP. No response at all. Did See 2 months ago another resident had the same issue we are having said a pay and their payment didnât wanna go through they charge him 80 late fee when we try to make the payment it doesnât recognize our unit etc we even have had issues with people try to come visit doesnât recognize our unit at all this is ridiculous I canât wait for our lease to be up to move or we might have to move sooner the managers here try to make it seem like itâs your fault and not theirs but they want to charge extra for late fees when itâs not your fault they need to fix thier online system they charged 100 dollars extra for a late NANCY manager is very very aware of the situation we bee. Having and also the other manager a well and on top of that the other manager whatâs to say let us do the money order this willl be the last time when the issue is on thier end not ours wants to say it with an attitude and still charged the late fee very very unprofessional Iâm still waiting on corporateâs number still no response WOULD I RECOMMEND THESE APARTMENTS TO FAMILY OR FRIENDS Absolutely ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY NOT NO NO NOPE MOST DEFINITELY NO management rude they canât keep things together they try to speak to you like youâre stupid and donât know the rules or law for that matter they receptionist is the worst she is rude super rude and if you explains something she tries to talk over you like lady are you serious if you wrote an email they will not respond at all then when you go to the office they give you attitude worst...
Read moreOur first year was okay. Our only issue were the drug dealers next door. They always brought groups of guys outside. Eventually their apartment got raided. I got pregnant and decided we needed more space so we transferred to a 2 bedroom in the back. All of our problems began there. We were supposed to be in the front, but the previous tenant needed more time and the office allowed it. I thought once you have your month notice you couldn't stay. Out of desperation we moved to the back since they only had that apt available that week. The parking situation is bad. It's hard to have guests over when they can't have their cars parked after 7pm. Everyone always has to park behind Kroger. We had mold when I came home with my newborn in the first apt. We also came home to mold in our other apartment when we came home with our second newborn. There is always broken glass in the parking lot. I had to get 2 tires changed within a year because of glass in the lot. The neighbor from upstairs is disgusting. They have a small dog which they don't clean up after. The outside smells as if something is decaying. The dog poops and it falls between the cracks of their porch/patio. The pee trickles down into our patio. It's pretty bad. I'm sure if you go there now the porch is still embedded with old dog poop.Who knows if they even made a pet deposit. Everyone walks their dog in the back and never picks up after them. It constantly smells like poop outside. Especially since we're right by the dumpster. For awhile our upstairs neighbors argued. I could hear everything. Once they took a fight literally outside my bedroom window. The cops showed up a little after. A rock was thrown in our window of our sons bedroom. He was 9 months at the time. Glass shattered in his crib. The window was fixed within 3 hours. Three days later our outdoor closet was robbed. My husband's tools and paintball equipment was stolen. Then whoever did it paintballed some of the apartments. We have 2 police reports on that. Every now and then you hear gunshots. I literally saw my new neighbors run for their life because of gunshots. The cops showed up fairly quickly. Ever since our AC started leaking we got a huge roach infestation. They only spray on Tuesdays so I went to set up a spray appt with the office and ofcourse no one showed up to spray. My husband and I decided to do our own bug extermination. We bought raid, bug bombs, and roach gels. It's still pretty disgusting. Had our dishwasher slightly fixed and the maintenance guy said we needed a new one. Then he never came back. The pool is never open. Its never kept up regularly. Their was a grand opening, but it's maybe open once a week. All in all this place should be a last resort. I've had a couple packages stolen. Definitely not a place for children. I did not feel safe with my 1 year old son and 3 month old daughter. We broke our lease which is up in December and moved in with my family. I would prefer to help them out with bills than pay an unnecessary high rent fee at an apartment complex with ongoing problems. Even the cop that did my police report said we should move. I'm hoping this complex can improve by getting the necessary security and funding to keep up with their building...
