Reggie's Veggies — Local services in Garden City

I witnessed something absolutely disgusting here that needs to be addressed. One of the employees—yes, an employee—opened a container of pickled vegetables, stuck her bare, dirty fingers inside, pulled one out, ate it right there in the open, then closed the lid and put it back on the shelf like nothing happened.

Not only is that unsanitary, it’s flat-out repulsive and dangerous. What if a customer had bought that? What if a child ate it? This isn’t just gross—it’s a total violation of food safety and public trust.

Disgusting. Absolutely unacceptable.

• EDIT • Girl... you were absolutely NOT eating your lunch and putting it back on the shelf! LMAO! That's funny though! I have never witnessed anyone eat lunch out of products and then put it back on the shelf...

I love this place. I only got to know/shop recently, past couple of years. I usually come late (late fall/winter), but was able to make it here this Spring (yup... they're open for business already, Spring 2020 😁). The fruits are always fresh; they will mark if it's (apples normally) pesticides free. I haven't gotten any salsa this year, but their salsa is ssssoooo goood. I think they have different spice level you can navigate yourself (well ask, sometimes they might be able to give you samples). I was surprised the price of the cheese is incredibly reasonable, and so are the price many of the fruits. Shop/support the small business and get your fresh fruits...

Last week, cherries, apricots, plums and nectarines were purchased. The plums began to go soft within a few days and now not edible. The nectarines and apricots were very hard (not even close to ripening, they're in the sun trying to ripen on this day). The cherries were and are still good and almost gone from eating. I really talked up Reggie's to my Mom and after $30+ later an extreme disappointment in outcome. You've been there for such a long time. This is just my honest opinion and in no way should suggest or reflect in another's decision.
