Kim Ngoc Jewelry — Local services in Garland

After I recommended this jewelry store on a local mom’s group, I realized I never left a review for the store here.

I highly recommend Kim Ngoc for onsite jewelry repairs. They have repaired gold earrings and rings for me. The store admittedly looks sketchy from the outside with the bars on the windows, and you have to wait to be buzzed in. However, this Vietnamese jeweler has been here since the early ‘80s. Gold jewelry is sold by grams based on market price, and I’ve found the price to be good. Most of the negative reviews I’ve seen have been related to customer service. I think most of the brusqueness is the language barrier. My Vietnamese is basic so I just wait to speak English with the daughter, Thao, who is delightful.

They fixed my jewelry onsite while I shopped (about 45 minutes). Before my ring was taken back, Thao verified the stone’s authenticity and she verified it again before she gave it back to me. I’ve been pleased with...

Bought 18K gold and cross necklace for my 1 month old granddaughter, change Movado men watch battery and repair broken necklace. Do not ask the owner husband. He tried to speak/answer English a while I was speaking in Vietnamese. Broken English, rude and obnoxious! I ALWAYS get my jewelry clean for free BUT he want to charge me! From the time this business open until now, I spent almost 100K, not counting my mother and sisters. There are MANY jewelry stores in Garland so if you go here, speak to the wife/owner or her daughters. This husband NEED to learn proper English and when customers speaking in Vietnamese, answer in our native language for God sake! 😡 😡 😡 😡 Will we spend anymore money here?...

I wish I could give a negative star instead of one. I wrote this review just right after I left the store. The owner I believe has the worst customer service attitude. This is the conversation between me and her.
