Attention Truckers: You'll notice that the security station is somewhat close to the road when you pull up to it to check in. After checking in they will put a yellow tracker on your trailer.
Since I was delivering security told me to drive up to the receiving office and give them my BOL's. After that they assigned me a door. Depending on what door is assigned to you you may or may not have to blind side back into it, plus there are yard jockeys driving around at all times and some areas are tighter than others. If you have a seal on your trailer don't remove it, the dock worker will do it for you. Slide your tandems and chock your wheels.
When they're done unloading you the worker will sign your BOL's and give them to you. Then go check out at security in which you will return the tracker and let them look in your trailer to verify your empty. Overall customer service here was very good. If you have questions the staff is easy to work with in regards to providing you answers. I'm just not a fan of the security station being too close to the road, this could potentially put 4-wheelers and truckers in sudden danger if there's a...
Read moreRolled in 3 hours early and they said they could take me. Receiving had me park beside the scale to wait for a call. 2 hours later they send me around to the back to a door and say wait for someone to come out and break the seal. Go around back and wait 1 more hour until someone comes out and breaks seal. Open doors and back up dock and wait 2 more hours until someone comes back out and asks to see paperwork. Then says I don't have an appointment (I do) and that I need to pull back out of dock and park to the side so another driver can back in to get unloaded. So I comply and then call receiving office to discuss situation and guy there says they should not have had me leave dock and as soon as other driver is unloaded to move back in. 2 hours later other driver is finished so I pull back in an wait. 1 hour later someone comes out and takes my paperwork and then a little over 2 more hours later I'm finally unloaded. This ordeal took over 10 hours after I came in early to unload....
Read moreI was going for a walk in a hood area of dallas and got to talking to a homeless man. Not even 2 minutes in he asks me if I want to buy drug and whips out a small vial of some vaguely deliquescent looking white crystals. I told him no and he lowered the price but eventuslly gave up after I told him no again. As we continued to talk at some point he told me he had gotten a job making Lunchables at a Kraft plant in Garland along the orange line, but that line doesnt run in Garland, and I asked if he meant the blue line. Went home looked this place up and I was pretty surprised to see this plant here, and the whole story wasnt entirely an alcohol or drug fueled fabrication.
🤣long story short thats how I found out there was a lunchables factory here in garland. Most normal day in dallas, and garland totally living up to its reputation.
So thats why those lunchables are...
