
Most horrible experience ever!!! My 2nd Dental Appointment experience at La Prada Dentistry turned to an Unforgettable nightmare. Worst dental experience ever!!!
Dentist Ho of La Prada Dentistry negligently used her air drill to damage my face while trying to do a tooth extraction on 10/11/2023. I had the most horrible experience ever which I am still recovering from. I went for a simple procedure and due to the negligence of the dentist I landed in the ER while she was working on my mouth. The Oral surgeons at the ER confirmed that she must have used her air drill equipment to pump air into my nerve/tissue in the left side of my face under my skin which then led to an extremely big inflammation on my face which deformed my face that I could not close my mouth or talk. One of her staff practically convinced me to do an extraction which I never planned to do initially, I had just wanted to fill some cavities.
Asides my insurance payment, they charged me over 500 dollars extra for all the procedures and it was discovered at the ER that no tooth was extracted. The CT scan report at the ER I was rushed exposed the fact that the tooth she was trying to remove was still in there and showing in the CT Scan result. I was placed on admission at the ER just because of her negligence. I was unable to sleep in bed for about 4 weeks because the trapped air was literarily choking me so I had to sit to sleep with pain in my chest due to the excessive air trying to force itself to escape to other parts of my body. If I am not seating or standing or If I dare lay down I will practically start gasping for breath. Up till now La Prada Dentistry and Dr Ho are yet to refund my money despite the terrible service rendered.
I have done 3 extractions before this with other dentists, never had issues. I had just been referred to La Prada Dentistry by my Dental plan- Cigna and I went for my 1st appointment on 10/3, they just did the general cleaning and rescheduled me to come back 10/11 for the procedures. This was my very first time doing any procedure at La Prada. I drove down and walked into La Prada Dentistry healthy with no issues and ended up with a terribly swollen face and been rushed to the ER due to the negligence of the dentist. The paramedics she called have all the info and all pictures of the incident and I also do. I barely survived. I absolutely do not recommend Dr Ho or La Prada Dentistry. Very terrible service. Up till now they havenāt reached out to initiate a refund or discuss any compensation for all I have been through and still recovering from. I absolutely do not recommend them. When they took my daughter first and the lady said "I'm going to take some x-rays shouldn't take long" and advised me that I stay in the lobby then they took my son back for x-rays .. well..some time went by ,I went up to the receptionist and asked does it usually take this long for x-rays? I need to be back there when they get their exam" remind you my son was already nervous before coming. I get to the exam room and both their exams were already DONE. So literally a Dentist whom I have never met before preformed an exam on both my children before meeting Mom ! I was furious! My heart raced and I couldn't think straight! I was highly upset! I think it was very unprofessional ! My kids went back to the exam rooms without me knowing who's back there, what the environment was like, if the tools were clean, nothing!!! Well from he lack of introduction from the first Dr I met, I mistakenly thought he WAS Dr. Zack, anywho, my second experience was great! The ladies were all so kind! Omar is so perfect for what he does for the office! And it was so so so nice seeing Anna again she such a fresh off breath air LOVE her energy! As far as my children go, I was present for their second visit, but let me mention, from my first review, I didn't mean I needed to be hovering over the doctor every time he treats my children, it was just that first initial visit. The receptionist told me that they could not adjust the brace for my daughter because were late. I said this was the first time that we were late, even were in the clinic earlier than the appointment time we still waited 45 minutes to 1 hr. And receptionist said that because they don't have enough staff and I said they should let us know in the morning and reschedule. I'm upset. The receptionist told me that they could change the color but needed to come back next week. I said I could not afford to come to their clinic every week, she even said that she could give me an excuse letter. You cannot understand that I need to work. My daughter complained that the staff did change of color was slow and hurt her. That's the thing too that's why they cannot do it because their staff is a trainee. The time they closed was 7 pm but it was already 5 pm and they were ready to close. I feel like they do not value our time and their time is so precious, feel liked they are not concerned about their client but just concerned about them. They were not concerned i said coz i had a couple of bad encounters with them but I did not say anything. Just like they poke the face of my daughter when they are measuring something but do not care, not even say sorry. The last time i asked them to fix my dentures and need to pay before they measured it, but the lady taking care of payment didn't communicate to the staff that I paid and waited for an hour and I'm diabetes and waiting untill 4 pm a almost complaint that time but the Dentist approach if I'm ok and i said i paid already and he said ok someone will come and measure me for fixing denture.
