I am very disappointed in Gabe's/Gabriel brothers. I have been a long-term customer since I lived in Pennsylvania which was like 1990 I would drive from Carlisle to Harrisburg when I moved back to Ohio I will drive from Columbus to Zanesville never have I ever had any problems with returns attitudes disrespect untidiness until I moved to Raleigh NC... Garner station boulevard has the worst Gabes store ever. It used to be nice until maybe 2022 so I don't know what happened I know I met the general manager who told me they opened a store in Wilmington so maybe I'll drive down there to see if it's better treatment so I'm a disabled veteran I'm 63 years old they put a metal thing on the cart so I can only shop minimum I can't carry all those bags out to my car with my disabilities so no longer are they handicap or ADA guidelines and being a veteran I would shop on Tuesdays and of course because I shop there frequently as you can see on my app I get coupons five to $20 off because I spent $100 to 200 sometimes so now they will not let me use my coupons on Tuesdays which is veterans Day or senior citizen day they took senior citizen discount off the store is getting scarce The furniture prices are ridiculous very disappointed downhill that's what it looks like The shift managers or closing manager told me tonight at like 9:10 I said this is one of the worst shopping trips I've had and she said why is that I responded...there's no music and she goes it's 10:00 and it wasn't it was 9:10 and I came in at 6:00 so no music nobody to help you find stuff shoes are ridiculously out of order The store is going capush. Looks like I'll have to try to use bargain shopping at TJ Maxx or Ross I am a Gabe's fan. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have always loved shopping at Gabes. Their prices are always low and have a nice selection of stuff. After today, I do not think I will ever come back to Gabes. They were very understaffed and when an extra cashier was called to the front, she waited on me and had a very nasty attitude with me when I was checking out. She raised her voice when she was ringing up my items and said, āI said did you need a bagā. She said it with a very rude tone. Then she proceeded to double charge me for one of my items that was 12.99 and I had to wait back in line for 30 minutes to get my refund. The lady that waited on me to do my refund was very sweet though and she apologized because of the lady before that rung me up. I then spoke to the manager about her actions and she just proceeded to tell me she didnāt thing she felt very well. I donāt buy it because the whole time I was standing back in line, you could hear that same woman talking very loudly about āWhy do all the customers have to come to this store and why are we the only ones that close at 11ā among other things she said. There was also some employeeās shirtless kid running around up front sliding across the floor in front of the customers. I could not believe the way I was treated and I could not believe the circus that went on tonight. I never like to complain but this is a good way to loose business especially people like me that spend a lot of money yearly during the holidays and stuff there. I used to spend 3 hours on this store. I donāt think I will be back sadly after tonight. Do better Gabes. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI actually like this store and love their prices but the MANAGER today is a seasoned women who you would think has more professionalism but I was WRONG. She would not honor a $5 coupon I received on May 22nd for joining the rewards program and stubbornly thought the coupon I was trying to use had a minimum on it like some of their other coupons, but she clearly saw in the email I showed her directly from my phone that this wasn't the case, even the cashier said the same issue happened with a previous customer and the morning manager entered an override and applied the coupon, this woman asked what that manager looked like?? --as if that was important-- then simply said I can't help you, call corporate and just walked away. Someone needs some re-training. What kind of a manager is that? So I did just what she said and I called corporate. Spoke to a very nice lady who contacted the store and this "manager" fixed her lips to say that she thought the issue had been resolved and the coupon amount was applied and that was a bold faced lie, she radioed back to the front counter after she walked away asking again what my subtotal was, which in fact --once again-- had nothing to do with this coupon. One of the most unprofessional managers I have ever seen. Hopefully she doesn't work on Saturdays because from now on, I am no longer shopping at Gabe's during the week. I need to shop in a store with a competent manager. And if I go Saturday and she is there, I may just go to a different location or just stop shopping there altogether. I don't need to deal with people like that...
