I absolutely love going inside of the store. I do agree with one of the previous posts on the review portion of Google. As a person of color, I have experienced “scan all departments” two times now. I do not steal, nor do I have a reason to steal. I have a career, the funds to purchase the items, and stuff at risk. Whoever the person is that is responsible for the call on scan all departments I will be watching and reporting to corporate if I experience this again. Look at several reviews below all centered towards racism. (Gertelman below) Visited the store with my wife, both of us welled dressed, after 10 mins in the store we noticed everywhere we went the section was called out over the intercom. We tested the theory and went to the other side of store and sure enough they called out to record that section, went to the front by men's clothing and they called out to record that section. We decided it was time to leave before I lost my cool, at checkout the total was $87 and some change, handed the lady a $100 she didn't want to take it said it had a small tear in it, handed her 5 $20 that she marked 3 times each yes 3 times. This was one of the most racist moments in my life and I'm almost 50. I'll never set foot in any Hamricks, and the Fayetteville NC location was my favorite but never again thanks to this location. Hamrick's educate your staff, sad to see good customers ran off by uneducated trashy staff. Thank you, Joyce, for reminding me of my place. (Lady Below) Tonight, when I went into shop (as a person of color) I always purchase a number of things and I have never been harassed, watched or followed around a store. Tonight, after working out (in gym clothes) as soon as I go into the store, the lady makes an announcement to scan all departments! Really, no one is even in the store. I should have left then. All of the management staff look trashy, unprofessional and have poor appearances. The white guy kept showing up in every department I was in. This turns loyal customers off! Why do all that following if you're watching cameras! Very sad because I usually spend good money when I shop there! I will be returning ALL purchased items tomorrow and will not ever set foot back into this store. Amazon needs to hurry and put these stores out...

The place had different staff members for me. When I bought one item and paid for cash they tested the cash to make sure it was real. Wow I guess I'm in the ghetto... 🤣

Besides that the older manager wasn't there. There was some nice cashiers. Staff didn't engage much with people. The kind of bypassed customers. It must be the area. I'm not used to going into a place where no one talks to you.

The place was just basic to me. It had a lot of Gastonia items for homes. I didn't look at the clothing. The shoes are pretty much plain and just above the cut above a Walmart store.

2022 Review: I actually was enjoying my shopping experience when the main manager interrupted me. I was shopping and taking photos to show how clean and organized the store was when she appeared with another employee.

She asked me why I was taking pictures. I explained that I am doing a Google map review. She seems puzzled and then told me that I was not allowed to take pictures and it was against corporate policy. I told her that it was under public domain. Then I told her that I wasn't going to add this incident to my review. Well, I am adding it after seeing some Yelp reviews. One of them mentioned her attitude. Then I thought of others that she intimidating. So here is my honest evaluation.

The store is very organized, the employees are friendly. They have a lot of deals. Now as I walked through the store I was wondering if the main manager was stewing in her office watching me through the camera.

Before I left I caught the second manager working hard with three employees. She understood the technology behind the review and was pleasant to talk with before I left out the door.

My guess, she is the glue that keeps the customers coming back. Please have the main manager attend training on customer relations and technology. Also tell her positive reviews would help her store. I was nice to take pictures of the items that would not taint your store. 💙🧡

I am definitely going to do a follow up in a month. Maybe on Yelp. I would have given you you 4 or 5 but I did not feel safe with a manager that think customers are...

My wife and I did our traditional trip to Gastonia specifically to go shopping at Hamrick’s and eat dinner at Jackson’s Cafeteria! If you haven’t tried Jackson’s Cafeteria then you have not lived ! It’s a must do let me just say ! We had a wonderful time together shopping at Hamrick’s as the last time we went there in November the next day they were getting a truck in the morning ! I remember truck days back when I worked full time and part time ! Anyway the store looked wonderful, it was stocked up displays everywhere plenty to look at . They are ready for Christmas shopper’s to take home their treasures ! On what we purchased we saved over 300 dollars! Wow can you believe that ! We always find really good deals when we shop Hamrick’s. We have even visited the Surfside SC location when on holiday . So go to Hamrick’s this Holiday season for all your gift giving needs you want be disappointed ! Tell them...
