This summer, my girlfriend and I went to this store for the first time. About 8 years ago, I was in a Menards in Holland and Kalamazoo and liked it. I don't like this Menards. It's hard to find things and we didn't like the checkouts. It's all backwards. Set items on the conveyor, go behind the cashier down the line and pay there. Never looking face to face with the cashier. We decided to never go there again. Until yesterday. I've been looking for a particular type of toolbox for over a year and found it on Gaylord's Menards website. It said there was 1 in stock. I live almost 1 1/2 hours away. When I got there, the shelf was empty. I asked an associate. He was asking questions like I was dumb. Did I click on "Gaylord" and did I click on "In Store" before or after I was looking at the item on the website. I told him I'm not stupid. I know how to use the internet. He did look in the back and said there wasn't any back there. Then he let me know I could order one off the website. I thought "What a great Idea! I didn't know that was possible!" I told him I know I can. But, the site said there was one in stock and I like looking at the items in person to make sure it's what I want. On that topic...I am also interested in a snowblower that this store sells. I went to check it out, but I really couldn't check it out fully. IT'S 6 FEET OFF THE FLOOR ON A SHELF! How are costumers supposed to make sure it's what they want if they can't see it!? I won't buy anything from Menards! Especially Gaylord Menards! And the Menards sign out on M32 is misleading. Normally you turn where the store sign is. That's the driveway entrance...except in Gaylord. That's a two-track! I had to get back into traffic so I could go further down the road to find...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI finally went to the new menards in my town of gaylord. I was looking at garden plants. A sale sign read "perennials $3.99" I double checked that I had the right size. I did. They were perennials. The sign was literally right next to the plants I was picking out. When I went to the cashier I said that they should all be $3.99. She scans them but they're showing up as $5.99. I point it out to her. She calls a manager. I explain to the Mgr. He's not interested in anything I say. He calls for a price check. They respond. He says they're not $3.99. I walk back to the garden center. I ask for the person who's in charge. We walk to the sign that clearly says $3.99. She acknowledges the sign and says she's call the Mgr. She then removes the sign. When I reach the checkout again the Mgr says no one has contacted him and the price is not $3.99. I tell him to contact them again.he does and reduces the price. No apology from either the mgr or check out girl. No ownership of their incompetence wasting 10 minutes of my time. The check out girl then forgets to give me my change and curses and says she's done that 3xs today. Mgr comes back. No apologies again. I have been treated as an annoyance just for wanting to get the price that was advertised. That was menards only chance. I'll never go...

I wanted to take a moment to recognize the outstanding service I received from one of your team members, Korbyn. As I was loading my car in the parking lot, Korbyn approached me in an incredibly polite and professional manner, asking if I needed assistance. Before I could even finish responding, he jumped into action and began helping me lift several heavy bags of dirt from my cart into my vehicle.
What stood out even more than his willingness to help was his attitudeācourteous, efficient, and genuinely focused on ensuring I had a smooth and positive experience. When I offered him a tip as a token of my appreciation, he kindly declined, saying, āWeāre not allowed to accept tipsāweāre here to help our customers have the best and easiest shopping experience.ā
That response alone speaks volumes about his integrity and commitment to customer service. Korbyn exemplifies the kind of professionalism and dedication that builds customer loyalty and reflects incredibly well on the Menards brand. He turned what could have been a physically taxing chore into a seamless and pleasant interaction.
Korbyn is a true credit to your team, and I hope his efforts are recognized. Employees like him make all the...
