A friend helped me plan a short trip to Savannah. Even though I've always lived in the south I've never been able to visit before. I was thrilled that the first thing we got to do was this wonderful walking tour with the owner of Explore Savannah, Rose! The variety of the information she shares will fascinate and amaze you as she walks you through Savannah, from sharing about the very beginnings of the city, to pointing out all the spots where movies have been made. I had no idea so many different movies had been filmed here! She packed so much in the two hours that we were with her that I really felt like I knew the city by the time we were finished. She's happy to share some information on some of the haunted areas as well! Having Rose show us so many wonderful little details throughout the town was really fun too. There's a lot of little touches in the town (dolphin downspouts and blue ceilings are just a couple of them) that I wouldn't have known anything about if she hadn't explained them to us. You really do need to book this tour as one of your first stops in the city. Afterwards you will really feel at home, and like you know the place. Thank you Rose for giving us such a fabulous tour! You really...
Read moreThis was a fun tour. Crystal, our interpreter was knowledgeable about Savannah from its founding. But as important, she was highly entertaining in describing the social, governmental, and cultural aspects of early Savannah as we walked the squares along Bull Street starting at Wright Square and ending up at Forsyth Park and its beautiful fountain. When I mean Crystal was knowledgeable, I mean as a 4th generation Savannah native, she breathed the history of the city and personally knew some of the (recent) people she described. Crystal spent the time with us to answer all our questions. The tour was a gem and we highly recommend the time to...
Read moreSo friendly and informative! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Rose and Dan! Both had so much information to share about the fascinating history of Savannah’s early days and how the passage of time is evident in the architecture. They also knew about many famous figures in Savannah – both historical and contemporary. We did the tour on our last day in Savannah, but I would definitely suggest it for your first day. Rose and Dan were both very friendly and clearly love their job, their city, and welcoming guests. Just a note: the tour start and end locations are not at the same place, FYI for...
