We have just successfully dropped off a newborn squirrel this afternoon and couldn’t believe our eyes upon entering this facility. Staff immediately took charge of the baby and placed him into a warming box. The spirit and enthusiasm here is amazing. We were encouraged by Jeanne Paddison, the director of Savannah Wildlife Rehab, who responded to our early morning phone call, and without hesitation, urged us to bring in this abandoned baby. We are giving this stellar review for her and the hardworking staff that provide countless hours to rescue wildlife and return to their natural habitat. Great experience! 5 stars!

First off this location is very difficult to find. No clear markings from the road and can miss it off not knowing what your looking for. Second showed up and they had a sign on the door saying "went to dairy will be right back" (picture attached) we waited outside for about an hour saw people come up to the door and walk away and then a lady showed up and just walked right in as if she owned the place. Didn't even see if the door was unlocked when we showed up. Just followed the sign and waited till someone got here to unlock and reopen the location.. very unprofessional handling of business.

We found a baby raccoon while out hiking during the day and could not find where she fell from. Momma was no where around and there was not a nest visible. She was a little more than a week old and exposed on the trail. We scooped her up, found a ranger and were directed to Savannah Wildlife Rescue...called them and got in the car to bring her to them. We were welcomed and felt that we left our new friend in the best care possible. It warms my heart to know they are there to help all beings on this planet. Good luck little "Peaches" and THANK YOU Savannah Wildlife Rescue!!

Read this!!! When we arrived the workers were nice and gentle with the bird we had. It was clear they didn't take birds in but they still took ours in, which I'm really grateful for. But for whoever is reading this, do not call any of the specialized doctors. We called on our way to the recreation center so they could be prepared. The recording said to reach out to the song bird specialist, dr.pat, if we had questions or need help. She didn't answer so I left a message saying, "I'm on my way to drop off an injured bird", of course that's the short version. She later called back, super rude and smug. She said I couldn't come over without making plans because she lives in a gated community, she kept repeating "you just can't do that!". She didn't let me respond, I was trying to explain that I thought she was at the recreation center and I can't plan an emergency. Than she said "we have been open for 20 years" and I'm not sure why this was important to mention. That conversation made it very clear that she had no interest in helping the bird and probably only takes in rich folks at her place. I could have rated them badly but I'm trying to separate the kind ladies that helped me...

My family and I were hiking at Skidaway State Park and happened upon a very young raccoon (we named her "Peaches" )that had somehow gotten separated from her mother. She was crying out and making all sorts of racket. We looked all around for a sign of a nest or den, but could find nothing. The staff at the park told us about Savannah Wildlife Rescue, so we took her there. The young lady who helped us was extremely friendly and compassionate about the situation. She took our new little friend and assured us that they would do everything they could to strengthen her up for release back into the wild. We were all very pleased with her demeanor toward us and the baby raccoon that we had found. No question that we found the right people to help...

This rescue center is OUTSTANDING & A GREAT RESOURCE! We called here when we found a bat on the ground from last night's storm & spoke with Jeanie. She was amazing! She guided us through exactly what to do to for the little guy step by step. She even gave us her number for us to send her "Operation Bat Rescue" pictures and videos, so I felt at much more at ease handling the situation ourselves. It's apparent that the people who work here genuinely care a great deal for the wellbeing of any and all wildlife. THANK YOU TO JEANIE!! Hopefully our bat friend will take flight to rejoin his bat family here soon or we'll be bringing him...
