Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Girard Township

We are ALL so over this place! We need an Aldi's, Save A Lot or Tops out here to drive down their insanely high prices! Lived here 17 years. Produce has limited overpriced selection. Meats are poor quality ahd way marked up for no good reason. Eggs are small. No decent ethnic food varieties at all for gourmet cooking. Staff are not knowledgeable on food preparations. This pharmacy is by FAR the rudest and slowest moving of any pharmacies out there. They repeatedly overcharge for the same medications at say, WALMART. They repeatedly are OUT of certain chronic pain medication, or just don't carry common drugs that other pharmacies do. They screwed up my co-pay card for a newer medication when it came out, 3 years ago, repeatedly, despite corrections brought to their attention. Again, only due to convenience sake, do we ever stop there, and then again, have regret and remorse over the receipt!

Also compared to York Town Center, it's night and day compared to the deli, prepared foods, ethnicity variations, better layout, better pricing, better quality produce, meats and dairy.

Shame on you Girard Giant Eagle Pharmacy. My husband had a complete knee replacement surgery on a Tuesday. His surgeon called in prescriptions 6 am the day of his procedure. It was outpatient, and I went at 7pm that day to pick them up. I was told the 3 meds were "out of stock ", and wouldn't be available until after 2 pm the next day. One of his scripts was pain medication. I was given a snarky response with NO alternative solution when I expressed disappointment and asked what I was supposed to do. Never once got a phone call, Text or email saying these meds werent available. His first night and the next day were terrible. Nobody should EVER have to go thru a surgery like that without pain medication for the following 24 hours! His dr. called the Girard Pharmacy after we told them what had happened. They expedited the fills and we were able to get him the medication he needed. We will gladly continue to give them our business when needed. We will never ever use Giant...

NOT A Good EXPERIENCE TODAY. I found chicken gravy on a marked down shelves that wasn't marked down. It was $6.99 each. Didn't buy any. Only had one kind of mashed potatoes, original, no sour cream and chives. At checkout the woman thought our root beer was beer and said we couldn't buy it until she noticed the right markings. The man before us accidentally scanned his head of lettuce again and told the checkout, but she didn't listen. When we got home we noticed we were charged $2.49 for a head of lettuce that we didn't purchase. We bought 7 donuts and we're charged for a dozen. Lastly, the paper bag we were given for our items tore twice before we got it into the car. NOT A Good...
