March 2025, I had lost my oil fill cap on a 2003 F150 4.6l pick up. After having bought 2 replacement caps from Autozone and also trying to locate the correct part from another Oreillys location, I had almost given up trying to find the correct OEM part for this truck. Stopping at a near by gas station on my way to a family member's home, I pulled in this store location in Godley, TX. I raised the hood, still perturbed over this minor issue that seemed to try to manifest into a bigger issue after still not understanding what the issue's solution was. I proceeded to ask a few customers as they headed inside, still stumped I went inside and waited for all customers to be helped, then discouragly, I asked the first employee, John, if he might be able to help solve my problem. After I explained the whole entire ordeal, we looked once at the truck, then he went to his computer searching throughout the items offered by the stores inventory, I showed John the previous choices tried. We stepped back to the truck, as i tried to find a picture. John, then opened the driver's door and looked at the info sticker as he was telling about how the Auto Industry had released some vehicles mid-year. John, then informed me that this truck was manufactured later in the year, so I needed a fill cap that was intended for a 2004 instead of a 2003. With a big difference between the two caps. Thank you John, I'll have you know that I stopped back by the store and asked a lady if I could speak to the supervisor, sounding worried she asked " why", so I explained how I had just got out of the hospital as well as every other detail and how he handled the issue I had, and how I even tried asking some of their customers, but John helped me out tremendously and eliminating one of the many chaos I was dealing with simultaneously at once.
