I had no idea there were agave spirits distilled in Golden, (Tequila can only be made in Mexico... so agave spirit it is) until I came across a distillery tour for State 38 on Groupon. You could sense the passion these guys had for their small batch spirits, as they lead the tour group through the company's history, production process, including hand labeling the bottles, and experiments they've tried. I had been looking forward to visiting this place for 2 months. Rushed over to the tasting room as soon as we were released from training.
