I first visited this place in August 2019. We stopped in for a quick drink with friends before heading up to Blackhawk. The atmosphere is awesome! The open outdoor seating area with the stage and band were enough for us to say we wanted to come back. Our next visit was the weekend they opened after having to be closed due to Covid-19. We were there on a Friday night and sat under the tent in the parking lot. You can tell they purchased new picnic benches to accommodate the 'social distancing.' Again, the atmosphere was inviting but the food service was slow. It took 1hr 45mins to get chips and queso! We ordered food about an hour into that wait, since it seemed it was going to take awhile. My BLT (which really needed no cooking) was the last meal to come out. Between hamburgers and my sand which, it was an additional hour for food delivery. The waitress was apologetic. HER service was fine. Now to the latest visit, Sat. 6/27. We arrived around 1:30 and sat under the upper outside bar area. I ordered food from a limited menu (a wedding was going to be there in 3 hours...) Food was good and came in a timely manner, but no one bothered to pick up our baskets the entire time we were there. Now to the main issue: I noticed a table being reserved next to the bar. When that party came up there; there was yelling coming from the blonde -medium build bartender towards a customer. She was yelling at her, "I don't give a F*$k!" along with other colorful words. (its a bar, I get it. We are all adults, but really?) Peaking my interest I listened in. (How can you not?!) The customer was trying to move the table 2 inches when the bartender told her that the table would be in the way of the waitress station. When the customer told her that the other side of the table was directly next to 2 people at the bar; is when the bartender laid into her. I felt bad...Is the customer not entitled to not be yelled at in front of a bar full of people?! The bartender proceeded to talk about her to the other customers. Never apologized; never sent her a 'sorry' shot! Nothing! On top of the yelling, people stood in front of the waitress station and she said nothing. She simply served people from a different part of the bar. So why the issue with moving the table 2" in the first place. I guess my crew will be going to Wrigley's across the street. Their service is far better and I would never have to worry about being yelled at or...
Read moreWe attended the Look Twice Save a Life ride today at Dirty Dogs. It was a big event and I was looking forward to it as we always have a great time at this venue. I was really surprised this time by the decidedly negative attitude on Jess the bartender. We made it a point to get in before the largest part of the crowd of riders coming in off the ride to order lunch. I asked if I could get my lunch order in before the rush, and was told by Jess in a huffy tone of voice "there's at least an hour wait for food"...to which I responded, "good thing we got in first then, can I just get a burger?" to which she snapped "it will still be at least 40 minutes to an hour" as if she were trying to dissuade us from ordering food. I told her that was fine and to ring me up. I offered her a $20 bill which she took, and rang up my burger. I had to ask "is there any way I can order a drink too?" Seemed we were really making her go out of her way to get an order in the system for us. My total was $18.?? so I gave her 2 twenty dollar bills so that I could give her more than a dollar and a few coins as a tip. In hindsight that's all she should have got. She then vanished. I wasn't given the drink I paid for. The food did take over 40 minutes and about 20 minutes in I asked if I could please have the drink I paid for. She had already picked up the cash (35% of the tab that I had left on the bar when I paid initially) and the man next to me joked (not really joking) that I shouldn't have tipped her up front. She shot him a dirty look too! I said there's still Google and Yelp reviews. Well didn't that wipe the nasty look off her pretty face?!! I actually got my drink! The food came up at almost an hour. It was ok. Most of the people attending the benefit ride left early due to the servers telling them they wouldn't be able to get food for over an hour. I don't know what happened to Dirty Dogs. It used...
Read moreI'll start by saying I really enjoy the atmosphere of this place with the outside bar, bands and karaoke with Linda on Tuesdays. However, I came by yesterday around 3pm to meet a friend and the service was terrible. The waitress greeted me, brought me a drink then disappeared for over 15 minutes. When my friend arrived we ended up ordering her drink from the bar, came back to our table, then noticed our waitress back in the section. I thought she may come over and apologize for going MIA but instead she decided to completely ignore us the rest of our time there while serving all the other tables around us. Keep in mind I still had a drink to pay for...We ended up giving the nice bartender cash for the drink and left. While I understand that most places are understaffed these days, I used to serve as well and would have been overaccomodating, not less, if one of my tables felt like they had to go to the bar for service. If the bar decided to take over our table, that should have been relayed to us. Either way, we ended up leaving soon after because of this experience. I didn't get the waitress's name seeing as how she never gave us our tab for the 1 drink but she had all the high tops next to the outside bar. I will probably be back, but I'm hoping for better...
