Food Lion — Local services in Goldsboro

I am editing and Adding two stars to my rating for the sole purpose of praising self checkout machines. Today I decided to not use a self checkout machine. The human That I interacted with treated me like I was a machine. She bagged my potato chips with a Large jar of pickles. She bagged my bananas with cold cartons of coffee. I am 50 years old And I know better than to bag groceries like this. The cashier lady was clearly older than me. There is no excuse for this type Of work ethic. Either she was incompetent or did not care. With a machine you are Given the same experience each time. And you bag your own groceries. Food Lion committed to a general upgrade three or four years ago, and this store has improved vastly over what it used to be. They've installed a new separate produce section and the produce is truly fresh and inviting. Much of it is seasonal, so not everything is available all the time. The meat section is well stocked for the population served by this store, being chiefly chicken beef and pork, but there is a small selection of lamb products, and a generous selection of hams, sausages, and cured meats. There is a deli and a bakery on premise. The dry-goods and dairy sections are adequate for most everyday needs, but they don't always have what you want. Found EVERYTHING I needed, nice employees and great prices. If you read my reviews you know I am big on good customer service. Well today I went in and lost my phone. One of the ladies named BRENDA in the store went well above and beyond to assist me and did not stop until I found my phone. I was so grateful for that She walked out to my car and saw my uncle in the car, who she knows from him coming in the store. He greeted her and then for 20 minutes on our drive he talked about how nice she is and how helpful she always is to him. Now on another note everytime I am in town I go there and they always have a 100+ multipack of gum reills on sale for less than $2!! What??? that is also unheard...
