It's hard to know whether to review on the brand, the location, the products, or the people. So I'll review them all.
The Brand. Target has come a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way since 1902 when it was first established as Goodfellow Dry Goods. Who knew Target had been around so long? The incorporation of groceries, home goods, designer clothing, and more has made Target a one-stop-shop for many people, including me. They've had their ups and, for sure, downs with certain policies that I have adamantly disagreed with, but overall they've come a long way.
The Location. Goleta has been SCREAMING for a store better than K-Mart for decades. We are super happy that Goleta finally has a place to go for most things at a (fairly) reasonable price.
The Products. Most of the items you buy at Target are fair-to-mid quality and about the same for the price. Some things you just know you'll use three times and toss. The variety of products is good, if you can find them at this particular store. This is where we lose some points. This store has far too many EMPTY shelves! What's going on? I still have to go to Ventura to buy things? C'mon Target! Get those shelves stocked! You're in IV for Heaven's sake, a college town brimming with students needing part-time work!
The People. Well we lose a star here for sure. I have only met one or two people who wear a smile. Most of the employees look like they are on death row waiting for the sun to go down. My goodness, but if you aren't happy where you're planted, then go plant yourself elsewhere! Customers don't need saggy, discouraged, depressed faces or answers when we're there trying to shop for...mostly things we don't need. So here's a tip: SMILE! It'll make you AND us...

She was charged double and I went in to speak with the manager to have them fix it and they wouldnât. Showed them the bank statement with the double charges they did and they still wouldnât refund it said go to my bank. My bank said itâs their fault and they charged me and I have to get the refund from them. Now I have a big headache and filing a fraud claim against them with my bank since they canât fix their mistake. They need to train their cashiers and supervisors and managers better on handling double charges better!!! I didnât do this neither did my teen daughter now she is out money she didnât spend and itâs not our fault and no one will fix a mistake we canât fix or didnât do!! Be careful using your...

I bought a $100 Apple Gift Card at Target Goleta, and just 5 minutes after leaving, I opened it and the code was completely unreadable. I went back immediately.
The cashier was kind, but customer service was awful. The girl at the desk kept repeating, âI understand, but thereâs nothing I can do.â When I asked for the manager (tall, bearded, with an earring), he said the same thing â no help at all. Neither wore a name tag.
They said it wasnât their problem, even though I bought it right there minutes earlier. I lost $100, but Target lost a loyal customer. I deleted the app and wonât return.
At Albertsons, a manager once had a similar issue resolved in minutes. He called support for me and stayed until it was fixed. Thatâs customer service. Target...
