Really nice and well kept cottage not too far from Mt Rainier (about 10 minutes from the park gate and 30-40 minutes from the Henry Jackson visitor center). Perfect place to setup for a day of hiking at the mountain or just to getaway from the city. We were only there for a short one-night stay but the owner was present and very helpful, and the room and house itself had that "cabin in the woods" feeling, with very pleasant decoration, and both heating and cooling to keep all sorts of guests comfortable. There's also a hot tub on the property that's shared among some of the other lodges, easy parking, and lots of fresh air.
Shower and kitchen amenities were basic but perfectly adequate and very impressive given the rural nature of the area. There's also really great Ukrainian restaurant just down the street if you're hungry.
One small nit would be that the bed sheets are a bit on the rough side, and certainly rough enough that it did affect sleeping a little bit. But other than that, the stay was very pleasant.
All in all, a very nice experience, even if we got unlucky with the mountain being rained out the one day we had to do the hike.
Ps, there is a friendly neighborhood cat that helps keep watch out on the premises. Very fortunate to have...
Read moreStayed here for about a week on a trip to Mt. Rainier National Park. It was a very convenient location, just a few minutes to the entrance of the park. It was also a very quiet, peaceful area yet very close to restaurants and a couple of local shops. We stayed in the Summit Suite. The first floor had a kitchen stocked with dishes, pans, etc. The bathroom on the first floor was beautiful, the shower was very nice and one of my favorite parts! Upstairs was a cozy living room area with bunk beds and a queen bed. It was the perfect spot for watching movies at night and it was also stocked with multiple books, which was a great touch! We really enjoyed reading and checking out the different books stocked there. There was also a hot tub on property and very cozy outdoor seating areas. Highly recommend this property, would 100% stay here if we are ever visiting Mt....
Read moreThis place is a gem! We’ve stayed here several times and each of the units that we’ve stayed in are a delight. With the stone fireplaces and with the warmth of the wood interiors, it’s like coming home to your own cozy cabin after a day of hiking or snowshoeing up at “the mountain”. We really enjoyed watching movies on the projector screen that was in each room. There’s also a nice little loop trail that’s easily walkable up the hill out beyond the hot tub that you can take right from the property. We saw elk there on one of our...
