The City Farmer — Local services in Grand Haven

Several attempts including 3 voicemails to owner, a written message, and two messages with assistant and not one returned call! Not even an attempt to explain. I have (had)lawn service with them. They did do a nice job with our lawn and the guys who came seemed knowledgable and friendly. I would have considered keeping services with some explanation and/or credit but I have hired someone else. The 1 star review is of management. They billed me for two services which they did not perform (fall fertilizer and sprinkler blowout). I cancelled both times but one of them they showed up for and I was not home. I called and left a message to reschedule. Unfortunately, my husband paid the bill before I had a chance to tell him, so they owe us for these services. Even if they disagree, they should make an attempt to contact me, but they have completely ignored me. The only reason is because they don't want to credit us. You can see that I have left 100s of reviews of companies and rarely do I leave negative reviews. They may try to explain now because I've posted this, but they had 6 other times to deal with this in a professional manner and avoid a bad review. Terrible...

In 2024 I contracted with the City Farmer for lawn service at my property in Grand Haven. I prepaid for the service. I recently visited a friend who is near the property. My friend told me on two occasions the lawn care worker came to the property and unloaded the machine, then smoked a cigarette. After a period of time the worker simply loaded the machine without ever performing the lawn service. I notified Kevin by letter and Kevin did give me a call and said he has a tracker on the truck. It is unfortunate the tracker is not on the machine. The older worker is cheating the customers and himself and his employer, you know who you are. I cannot recomend contracting with the City Farmer for lawn service if you cannot observe the application of lawn chemicals. Having been a customer of the City Farmer for a lot of years I can no longer trust to get what I paid for....

I am just a renter and don't pay for their landscaping services but WOW NOT GOOD! I watched them show up, off load the mower and weedwacker, cut my flowers I just got going down, cut AROUND a branch on the ground instead of picking it up, did absolutely no leaf blowing and just left. Total time to unload, run around, and reload, 15 MINUTES. I would NEVER recommend them. Mind you there is 2 apt....
