I can't recommend Taylor's Croft as a bagpipe supply/accessory shop. I selected them specifically because they were US-based and relatively close to my location. I selected priority mail because I needed the items for an upcoming event. When my package didn't arrive for a week, I emailed Taylor's Croft asking for tracking information. No reply. The package finally came a few days after that. The package was from Kinnaird Bagpipes in Canada. From the tracking number listed on the package, Taylor's had drop shipped the items straight from Kinnaird in Canada sent by boat (slowest service) from Vancouver to LA and then on to me. The prices I was charged were 50% to 80% more expensive than if I'd just gone straight to Kinnaird's. The whole point of buying US-based is for faster service of in-stock items. I paid priority for snail mail service.
If this was a case of items are out of stock, just make that clear that drop-service is an option. In this case, it's clear my money should have gone directly to Kinnaird's or some other US-based company. The only upside is that I did receive my items, at a significant upcharge and a week after I...
Read moreWent there this weekend totally surprised. Thought I had a good idea on this Scottish store in Grand Junction. It is truly more than a store. With Scottish, Irish and English goods, it is an experience. I want to join them for high tea and a true Scottish culture. The smell, the bagpipe lesson that was taking place as I walked thru the door the large table with the Scottish castle in the back ground, Sharons accent, her passion, the beautiful purses, all sorts of treats I had no idea what they were and her explaining I must watch outlanders in netflex because the movie as well as the Scottish drink ironbru is her home town. I'm not a movie or TV watcher but thanks Sharon I now have started my binge watching. I will be posting some of the goodies I brought home to taste and my honest opinion on them. Hopefully soon I will get to do a watch party. In the mean time check out Taylor's Croft and please enjoy the Scottish word if the week. Which by the way is not as easy to say as Sharon makes it especially since she has the accent and I do not. Absolutely a must visit experience when in Grand Junction. Take a step...
