Update: I have been contacted by someone at the company, wanting to make this right. This is appreciated, however we will be using someone else for further assistance. We recently moved to the area and had an issue with our gas fireplace. We called Smart Energy Solutions to come out and fix the pilot assembly. The first technician that was sent out, was great, he fixed the problem with a generic pilot assembly. As he was trying to get a price on the part, whoever he was talking to told him that he could not use that part on my fireplace and that he had to take it back off. So that is what he did and then left and told me that someone from the office would be in touch. Well, a week later I called the office to see what was happening, and the person who answered the phone could not answer my question about when the parts would arrive, stating " I would have to go check the tracking, but we will call you when it is in." It was another few days before a different technician came out with the correct parts from the manufacturer. He put the first part in and it did not work out of the box, he stated it was a good thing we ordered 2 of them, after putting in the second one. This pilot assembly lasted a week until it would not light anymore, seemed to be the same problem again.
I was charged for them coming to my house twice and they did not fix the issue. I contacted Smart Energy Solutions and complained that my fireplace was still not working, and I was mad for being charged twice for something they did not fix. I was told that I would still need to pay for another service call but they could discount the rates after the first hour to $75 an hour.
I do not have any trust in this company and will not be using them again for my Fireplace.
Every story is unique and this was mine, I feel taken advantage of by Smart Energy Solutions, but your experiences may be different. I do not recommend them for any fireplace needs, I learned my $350 lesson...
Read moreI was saving my review until all aspects of our business was completed. From start to finish these folks were professional. From the very beginning, when speaking to Scott, I was impressed how up front he was about what I could expect for cost and that if it was outside my range, there was no sense in wasting his or my time going further. Some might have been offended at this upfront-ness, but I found it refreshing to have someone be up front and to the point in that regard. And he said it respectfully, not condescendingly, btw. They were about a month behind on installations, but you can take this as an indication of how sought-after they, their products and their work are! The month passed (after we got a great deal on a floor model pellet stove) and they were right there. It was a fast, smooth installation, complete with one of the guys staying behind to explain how it operated, how to perform maintenance on it and to really just answer any questions we had, without appearing as if we were holding him up. The building inspector came by today - the last part of the process. It took almost no time for the work to get his official approval, and he remarked that "these guys are professionals" and that he has never really had any issues with their work - they know what they are doing. We decided to trade our old stove in and buy local. Very pleased with the folks in Grant so far. We had one small issue and they sent out a very knowledgeable tech right away and resolved the problem. If you have not stopped by to check out there store you are missing out.
