Troubled Puzzles Escapes — Local services in Grayslake

I did the woods experience with my friends who were visiting out of town, a few days after doing 60 to Escape located in Gurnee Mills Mall which probably soured the whole experience for me. Comparing this place to 60 to Escape (which go for about the same price), the decorations/clues are cheap and uninspired, about 80% of the puzzles involved unlocking standard locks that they probably bought from home depot (my group struggled to unlock one lock which was reminiscent of those you had in grade school and had to search up a video online on how to unlock because its been 8+ years since anyone of us have ever used one, didn't help that the moderator sassed us and acted like we were kinda dumb for not remembering how to use.), and the moderators in general were unfocused and not really professional, we'd ask for help and they would be confused on what exactly they were supposed to help with. I gave two stars because someone who has never done a good escape room might enjoy this experience, but if you ACTUALLY want a good escape room I strongly suggest skipping this place and going to 60 to Escape located in Gurnee Mills (i'm not affiliated with the that company...

We were a couple minutes late for the start time, but Daniel didn't mind. We got into our puzzle room in our group of 5 and had a blast! It was reminiscent of a place Jason Voorhees might live and had my hairs standing the whole time. Very creepy, very well done. Our group survived and the icing on the cake was knowing we made it on the leaderboard for the month's best time! 😀 it was only a short drive on straight clear roads to get there from Lake Villa. So, for the experience, I think it was a great value! I think I had a better time in that escape room than the experience I had earlier in the Cabin In the Woods, but to get the full experience, you should do them both! Well done! Daniel was our gamemaster and made it so much fun for the kids and I! We had a group of 5 try and escape the secrets of the woods while we looked for Shane and Amanda!
