We adopted our 17-week-old kitten on 7/8/25 and were absolutely thrilled to bring him home. As experienced cat owners, we thought we knew what to expect. Instead, this has become an absolute nightmare that has overwhelmed even us - I can’t imagine how devastating this would be for new cat owners.
Misleading advertising: Kitten advertised as “dewormed and up to date on vaccines.” The vaccine issue was only revealed AFTER paperwork was signed - he was already a full WEEK overdue for rabies and other vaccines. Not just “due soon” - actually LATE. Felt completely blindsided and trapped at that point.
Immediate health crisis: The day after adoption (7/9/25) required TWO vet visits in ONE DAY. First visit for overdue vaccines, then I discovered a tapeworm emerging from the kitten after we got home, requiring a second visit. Test results revealed tapeworms, giardia, AND coccidia - all highly contagious parasites that pose serious risks to humans, especially children.
Real impact on our family: We’re facing a minimum of 3 weeks of intensive quarantine and decontamination. Every day I’m bleaching surfaces, washing hands constantly, and living in fear that my 3-year-old will somehow get infected. The emotional toll of keeping a sick kitten isolated while managing contamination risks is overwhelming. My child keeps asking why she can’t play with the kitten - it’s heartbreaking.
Missing precious time: We’re losing 3 weeks of critical bonding time with our kitten during this special period we were so looking forward to. At 17 weeks, he’s already an older kitten and we’re missing so much of this important developmental window as a family.
Financial burden: Already $300+ in emergency vet costs from TWO visits in one day, with hundreds more for medications, follow-up testing, and decontamination supplies. My 5-year-old cat now needs expensive testing and preventive treatment.
Ongoing concerns: Giardia and coccidia can linger for months in the environment, meaning recontamination is likely. We could be dealing with this cycle indefinitely.
Lack of support: No educational materials provided during adoption. When I reached out for help, was told it wasn’t their responsibility. Also deeply concerned about animal care standards - other kittens (Patrick and Paige) appeared visibly sickly.
The reality: This isn’t just about money - it’s about the daily stress of protecting my family’s health while caring for a sick animal. Three weeks minimum of this intensive routine is taking a serious toll. The Lambs Farm adoption facility is wholly inadequate. Families deserve transparency about health issues and proper support when problems arise immediately after adoption. Please consider adopting a kitten from another...

Read moreWalk in and say hello and no one acknowledges you. All of the workers are on their phones. The macaw (big red parrot) is very poorly taken care of and looks terrible with green water and old food. These people obviously couldn’t care less about their animals. They really need to hire people who care about their jobs and think about the animals versus what tik tok has to say. This is ridiculous and these animals would be better off in shelters or set free with the good for nothings that “work” in this shop. ...
