I can not express how grateful I am to this group of people, for taking such good care of us. I only wish they sold cars because I would buy every vehicle from them if I could. We started off at another Harley dealership in Illinois and had such a bad experience, and we were going to accept a deal we weren't comfortable with at all. But the hubby wanted his Harley, and inventory was really low all over. We decided to just pop on into House of Harley to look at a bike we saw online, just before we finalized the other deal, and I'm so glad we did. We were taken care of right away by Peter, and he informed us that the bike we were interested had been sold a few days prior. So he led us to another bike he had just gotten in, and that was all it took to convince the hubby that this was the bike for him. Peter could tell that I was very wary and unsure of them after what we had to go through at the other place, and I can be a little difficult to work with sometimes because I feel, as a woman, I have been taken advantage of and treated poorly by other salesman in the past. So I had all my ducks in order ahead of time to avoid this and we had been pre-approved by Landmark for a loan already. Peter suggested I take out the loan through the dealership, and they would still use Landmark as our lender. He explained that yes, it does benefit them to finance through them. But that we might also get a better rate, too. So after discussing it with Landmark directly, they said it would be safe to go with Harley. Rob was the next person who counseled me, and made sure I was completely comfortable with proceeding with their financing, he didn't want us to feel pressured at all by doing so. He explained that it would make things go along smoother if they handled the loan directly, instead of going back and forth with Landmark. He did not make us wait for hours in his office, like I have had to do with our car loans. He processed all our paperwork as we chatted with Peter, and in less than 20 min, he came back to let us know we were set. They even got a rate 1% less than Landmark. And finally, we finished it all with Kyle, who took care of all the paperwork and the final touches. The entire time they took care of us, we were never sitting in the office waiting for too long. They walked us around to get our free Harley Tshirts, and had us meet with the service department in case we were interested in adding a backrest to the bike. The hubby got to ring the bell when we were all done, and it felt like we had been accepted into a family. The whole team was efficient, but never lacking in client communication and care. We decided to pick up the bike the next day since the weather was set to be perfect. Let me tell you, the look and huge smile on the hubby's face when he rode off was worth every penny we spent. And FYI: they are very dog friendly here, they have pet waste disposals all over. We were able to bring our boy along with us, they even gave him biscuits upfront. I'm so grateful we found our to House of Harley. This is the place to go, trust me on this. I know this was a long review, but I want to share how great...
Read moreOk so being real here 5 stars is just not enough. These guys are outside the envelope. Update....so how can a 5 star get better...have a minor hiccup after the sale and see how they treat you... Guys you just have to buy here. This team is amazing. They picked up my bike, worked it into a VERY BUSY spring schedule. Infact my buddy Mike was the rental guy inside House for years. He stated that they were probably dealing with 200 or 300 of his rental bikes for spring service on top of a Customer Appreciation weekend... No excuses, great communication, great energy. Nice frikin people. Another hardy thanks to Doug and Adrian. Also John in service plus Elvis... This us a great team. Keep it up. You are truly a head above in an industry with a reputation for not being so great...
BUY HERE. YOU WILL BE SOOO HAPPY! Cheers!
I sold for 40 years and just love the energy here. Professional but not pushy.
My salesman Jeff greeted me when I walked in with a warm smile and greeting. I had two bikes in mind I had seen on their website. He had me on both of them in less than 5 minutes. Without asking he noted the one that had piqued my interest, moved two bikes up and pushed "mine" out far enough that I could take a tour...can it be started I asked...boom running... Mind you he was a little nervous as he seemed a little new but still AWESOME...
We talked numbers for a few and then he went to work through what we could do with his sales manager.... AWESOMENESS number two..
Doug! Folks this tag team is awesome. Warm, honest, kind, smart, funny. Guys you'd hang with..I even asked for some "deals"on stuff...Doug said he couldn't help me, but in such a way that I walked away shaking my head at how good he did that...just good stuff!
Numbers were great...handshake and set up closing in a few days. I went in today to the same kind, friendly energy.
Quick story. They take you on a tour when you get a bike...ring the bell, picture on the bike, tour the facility. More like an experience, so you know everyone if you need help. Service&Motor Clothes. FREE T-Shirt too!
I had worked with service but Scott introduced me to a very friendly Motorclothes lady. I am old so I don't recall her name but she was VERY nice and helpful. Infact she was gonna walk me back to Scott. I kindly refused, I,m old but can remember where Jeff was...lol.....but come on....she was gonna walk me back to Scott..."over the top" customer appreciation....that was awesome...thanks Motor Clothes Lady. I hope Doug tells her she was awesome!
In summation the General Manager Elvis....yes Elvis...he is not really dead. He works at house of Harley...lol
He has assembled a team of really fun, enjoyable folks at all positions. If your looking for a bike and want to enjoy the process go here. I PROMISE YOU....this is da bomb...
And to Elvis, Doug and Scott. If anyone wants a referral from a customer feel free to have them call me up!! ...
Read moreUpdate on 02 Nov: The guys at House of HD came through for me again this past weekend. Mark (Academy Director) managed to get me into the last class of the season for a "second try" at my license (and this was actually the second time he accommodated me; the first time I had to cancel last minute). My instructors (Greg and Jim) were great and I can't believe how much I improved over the two-day course. I cannot say enough good things about everyone at House of HD - they have made it incredibly easy and enjoyable to get into the great pastime of riding Harleys!
Original Review: Being totally new to motorcycles, House of Harley-Davidson was the perfect match for me in realizing my dream of riding cycles. My wife and I first visited House to attend one of their Saturday afternoon concert events. Having been intrigued by cycles for decades (I'm 55 and never did anything about it), this provided the spark to finally make the leap.
Russel Disch (sales) helped us every step of the way. He took the time to show us JumpStart (on two different visits) so we could get a feel for being on a cycle. He provided information about Rider Academy which I signed up for immediately.
I cannot say enough about the benefit of that Rider Academy. The instructors (Jim and Jim) were awesome and very patient. I went from having never sat on a motorcycle to being able to operate one over the course of the three day class. The class, however, made it clear I need a lot of practice and that is where Russel helped (again).
Russel listened to my concerns about getting into the right cycle so that I would not be overwhelmed while learning. He showed me many options and I am now the proud owner of a 2017 HD883 SuperLow which I am using to develop my riding skills with my learning permit. And it's going to be perfect in the future for my wife and daughter (when I "graduate" to something a little more powerful).
I cannot say enough good things about my experience at House. Everyone makes you feel welcome -- the ladies in the Gear Department, the Service department, management and, in particular Russel. They made the process of getting onto a cycle seem effortless and I am very grateful for all...
