I was sitting there eating, when the manager came and sat behind me with one of the employees. Apparently she was looking to end her employment there. First of all, it's extremely unprofessional to have these kinds of conversations in a crowded dining room. He should know better. And he wasn't trying to be quiet or discrete in any way... He says to her that by all accounts, she's a great employee. Good attitude, does a good job, he likes her, etc. Asks what the problem is. She says her pay is the problem. He offers to bump her up to 13/hr. She says that's not enough. He says that that being the case, he's going to have to let HER go. Proceeds to talk down to her about how no one there is making (air quotes) 15/hr. I had no choice but to turn around and say that they all should be making at least that, because this location can CERTAINLY afford it. This place has a drive thru line around the building, and crowded dining room, for hours, every single night. The fact that Culver's can be the busiest restaurant in every location they're at, but only hires teens in order to pay them less than livable wages is egregious, and disgusting. I was beyond disappointed to learn this, and will definitely think twice before spending any more of my money there...
Read moreHorrible staff and food at this location. They serve the public PINK uncooked burgers, hidden under all the slopped on toppings, with the ugliest attitudes. If u do happen to be forced to eat at this location, PLEASE INSPECT ur food BEFORE CONSUMING! I'm pretty sure there are laws in place for serving food of this statue. I was told over the phone that my ENTIRE order would be replaced due to the negligence of the hired cook. I repeatedly informed the on duty manager that a comp'd order would not be sufficient if either I or my fiance fell ill, after noticing the problem half way through our food. I would have preferred a total refund for their negligence. Store "manager" Kaleem is not qualified to run or operate a fast food chain. Leaving the store to go get Mountain Dew Kickstarts from a nearby gas station during peak holiday hours, when he states no other manager is on duty, proves his lack of judgment. He refused to give me contact information to the stores HR department. WHOMEVER owns this franchise or Culver's Corporate themselves, need to take a close look at this location. Maybe a complete overhaul is in need. Save yourselves the disappointment and head a little farther east on Layton to a better, more...
Read moreRecently, my father dined at what he said was a Culver's restaurant in far south-suburban Chicago -- and raved about the experience. Given his review, I thought I should visit a Culver's restaurant myself -- and, on Oct. 16, 2023, I stopped by this location.
My dad -- 83 years young -- must have been mistaken as to where that outstanding dining experience occurred. This Greenfield, Wis. store was, frankly, the complete opposite of what one would consider a positive experience.
I arrived at about 5:30 pm; the restaurant's interior was fairly busy (and the drive-thru was swamped). I ordered two grilled chicken sandwiches and a medium drink. During the long wait for my food, I counted at least 15 employees on duty.
The food -- grossly overpriced -- was merely okay, with the "grilled" sandwiches appearing to be more "microwaved." And, apparently, none of those 15 employees were tasked with cleaning tables; I observed several tables with crumbs and other debris atop them.
This was my first -- and last -- time inside any Culver's. And in today's society, it's hard to know which is worse -- that such a restaurant can be this bad; or that so many people can be duped into thinking...
